John, Just curious. How many have you built so far? I did see one in Corona, looked real good. Just got the boat stereo finished. I will call you and see when would be a good time to drop it off for the rub rail (paint) & throttle.

Al&Eds Ontario,CA. They did a great job. Alpine PDX amp nice and hidden. Sound's awesome. Thanks Chris for the referral. Dave and crew did a outstanding job.
Just need to order the Sub Grills to match the 6.5's. Going to get that done today.
The Ice chest was an after thought. We thought about building into the storage but later decieded to keep the storage and build on top of the storage lid.:D

We just pulled number 15 out of the mold. I'll post some pictures as they come along.
We are spraying one tomorrow that will be all Carbon Fiber/Corecell/resin infused. Should be real light. It is getting 1200 hp with a Weismann dual prop counter rotating drive.
BTW, thanks for posting all the pics of your boat the stereo looks great.

Thanks John, I'm soooo tired of winter. This non stop wind is getting old. I cant keep anything clean. Weather permitting I will be in Havi this weekend.:D I need to use this mofo. I have more hours in the side yard then the lake.
The ice chest holder was easy to do. Al&Ed's just carpeted and framed the ice chest in. I figured if my kid's can crawl on the storage lid then there would be no problem for a ice chest to sit on top. Also the lid closes over the sub's on the other side.:D

No I will always own a cat. My 27 fits in the garage and is easy to tow if I decide to go on some long trips. It is perfect. Now if John ever came out with a 30' Shadow then maybe, but then you would have to run twins and I am relly not looking to do that.

John M
My new shadow deck(when we are done with the build) will be insured via state farm for Total annual premium: 677.00 with the 496HO. This is for the east coast, inland lake boating only. My agent actually called ultra and spoke to John about specs so she was able to get an official underwriting approval before the boat is even in the mold. Any motor over the 496HO she said statefarm would have said no.
oh, John if your reading this, that ice chest over the storage idea seems like a good idea ;) based upon our earlier conversations.

I was wondering if the Ultra deck has a fiberglass innerliner? The pictures show a fully carpeted cockpit. I am looking for a deck and like the looks and performance of the Ultra but I want a fiberglass liner.

Yes, unless you start messing with the seating config.
I decided to do a U shape bench in back so the liner is out for me, however JW has that option ready.

My 26, whch was the 1st one made, has an inner liner in the front section, with snap in carpet all the way to the front of the dash. I've been told that there is a full inner liner available now, in fact more than one for different seating arrangements.

I need your help. Wife is now saying to rethink full bench vs walk thru to the transom.
Did they have any 26's at the show with the walk to the transom seating option? Being on the east coast we don't get to see much except for some pictures.
Pro or cons?
I think our's is soon to be in the mold so it's getting down to the wire if I need to make a change.

We did not have any at the show set up that way. Pro would be you don't have to go over the hatch to get in and out of boat. Con would be that you would lose some seating as well as you have a tighter engine compartment. Personal preference either way. The majority of the poeple I talk to like the full bench and dislike the walk off. If it were my boat I would do the full bench. Just my .02.

Has there even been any thought to having the walk through to the transom but having some sort of fold up seat or something of the sorts so you would actually not lose any seating but it would fold out of the way for access to the transom? The only drawback would still be the loss of engine compartment space and maybe some looks but some people might like it. I kinda like the idea. Then again I like the full hatch for chillin'.

That is an option we have that seating configuration currently on the 23 Shadow Deck if the customer wants it.
