Well today is a sad day. Went to get the boat reg. for my private lake and it was a no go :mad: They say it is no longer an approved boat for this lake (Mother ****ers). All the other water in this area gets to big for a low profile boat, so with that I have to let it go :(Have no fear it will be replaced by something better! So here is the deal wink
1981 Eliminator Day Crusier Hi-po V-Drive, Harmin 454 405hp S/N HM9-0-6370,4 bolt mains, GM Al. Intake S/N 3933163, rectangle port, 990 heads, 12:1, 7/16 Rod Bolts, Forge pistons and rods, Hyd Cam, lift 493 duration, 493 intake , 297 Ex., 780 holley, Art Carr 400 turbo 3 spd W/Reverse (R,N,1,2,3) CASEL C-500-15%, Strout marked R1-104-9°, Ele Cav Plates, Rail Kit and Rigging by Connely in Yellow Anodized Al and Polish. Interior is out and needs to be redone!Gel is perfect as is the rest of the boat. New floor panels on left and right side in the cockpit area and new carpet going in! Stringers are perfect! They knocked off abunch to make room for the newer boats :mad: I am still going to keep going on the eliminator and adjust the price as needed to include updates. I love the boat but just cant use it to many places around here. :( Who knows if it does not sell by mid summer Ill just hold out till I move back west and use it wink

Just so you know I've see that same hull with a v drive pulling skiers in the Catalina race. If they can do it in the open ocean I would think you could drive it just about anyplace.

superdave, I remember watching the catalina race when it was mostly flatties running to the Island and back. Shit, Chuck Stearns, 11 time winner, won once behind a flat and ran it in just over an hour! He'd be right in the hunt today with that time. You're right about this Eliminator though, that'd be a great boat to have. I'd love to see it in my garage!
by the way, did you know the race this year has been moved to june, not later in the summer?

BTW my only concern is it seems to swamp the back very easy if i back off to quick. But I have run it 1-2' sweels with no prob besides swamping the rear. Maybe just need to be more careful.

FR argue I live on a private 900 acre lake (lake St.louis) It is used for a ski club and has a number of approved boats that can be on the lake, mine used to be on there but due to all the new brands and not one eliminator on the lake they drop it to put a different maker on the list.Other than the boats on the list, the rules are it has to be under 20' and 170hp I/O or 120 clamp on. :mad:

Yes I have a home on the lake but I just bought the boat over the winter based on the old list, the inspection office was closed all winter so this was the 1st time I could talk to someone :( So no I did not run it under that list and since no one else has had one on the lake it was taken off to make room for others.

Where were you a year ago, I could have been "Bow Tie Eliminator". Nice boat by the way. I am up to my gills with the Omega right now. Barney is just about done with her. Ah well, a V-drive day cruiser will be my next project though. You hear that Barney, another red boat :D . Just teasing, that will be a few years from now. :)
