How fast is the boat? and how does a bravo drive hold up to a turbine? those two just don't seem like the perfect combo...

I having trouble getting back in. The price is $139,000 for boat and trailer. The motor makes about 600 ft. lbs. of torque until it reaches 100% of throttle. No problems at all so far, with 28hrs. I boat at 800' above sea level and the boat runs at least 112 mph here. the noise is louder at idle in the boat than at speed, but nothing tremendous. Cool boat, lots of dock appeal.

I forgot to mention that this boat will burn kerosine, diesel, jet a, lamp oil, or perfume. The kero will burn a little cleaner

How many gpm at Idle and how many at 100%??
Where do you buy Carosine and how much is it pr gallon??
Just curious just kicking your tires.

I don't know what the burn rate is, but I can find out. I had exact same boat, '04 model with 525 Merc in it, and the turbine was considerately less fuel burn in a day's time. Idling, running, docking everything considered. You can find kerosine at most service centers where they sell diesel and I think the kero is appx. 20 cents higher than diesel.

Just kicking your other tire here..
Who could do maintenance and do you have a guess as to the annual cost for maintenance. It sure sounds like a great deal for a boat that does 112 along with a 112 cool factor...:D

Anytime,
The guy that rigged the boat for me is only a phone call away. I've had this discussion with him also, and if you have a decent mech. close by he can diagnose a problem over the phone and send you a part if needed. That's the nice thing about these turbines, they don't break much, remember, they came out of a helicopter. The only maintenance it needs annually is checking the oil, changing it is about 400 hrs. I would have to ask the rigger again but I think this is correct.

It is a awesome boat, if you like something different. I've had the boat for a couple years now along with some others, and it's time for something different. By the way, the boat has never been titled. I had the idea of building something that nobody in my area had in this length and something you didn't hopefully have to wrench on all the time. So far so good. The boat was tested at the riggers shop for about 6 to 7 hrs. before I got it to make sure it did what it was supposed to do, and before I let it go it's going back to make sure everything is performing as good as it is suppose to do.

That pic. was taken when it was first built when Ted did a photo shoot. It has always been for sale. It has always been hard to sell an Eliminator on the east coast, why I don't know. I love the boats they build and have had several of them and would buy another. That 33' you saw on Ted's page was mine to. It was built appx. 2 years ago.

How does it do around the docks??

It works like any other boat other than you depress the switch on the side of the shifter that engages the drive. That engages the engine brake so that you can shift it in and out of gear. It's the same as pushing a clutch in. If you look at one of the pics. of the interior you can see the switch. You can also see the water injection switch in the floor where your right foot would be.

Were you able to insure it?

If anyone in Texas buys it, I can work on it for you. Ive been wrenching on LTS-101's for 8 years. Finally getting into Turbo Mecha engines. Just a quick fact for you guys. The entire fleet of Coast Guard HH-65's (the orange helicopters) have ran these motors for 26 years. Just last year they upgraded to a newer engine. Very popular engine used in helicopters and originally tanks. Bump for the good ole LTS !!!!! Tried and true.

Does anybody else think that the price of boats in the last few years has gotten a little out of hand. I think that it is hard to get your money's worth when you start pricing a boat over 300K. I've looked at several boats from 300K to 500K and after sitting back and thinking really what you're getting for that amount of money it makes you think real hard. I could name a bunch of these boats but I think everybody on here knows which ones I'm talking about. Am I looking at this wrong? What do you think.

I wish I could Jbb, I would really like to just sell it and go on to something else. I really don't know what else is and really don't know if it involves another boat or not... This is the only boat that I have ever owned that I can spin it over, and it runs and does what the others are suppose to do and that is have no trouble, get it out the next time and do the same.

What is the water injection for?

Tapa11
02-06-2007, 06:47 AM
The water injection is for exhaust temp. When you get on the throttles hard exhaust temp's rise, by pushing that little button in the floor it keeps temp's down. It also give's the turbine a bit more hp. It feels as if you are hitting the nitrious button. The boat has a 15 gal. tank on it for this.

WOW, that boat is bad ass. im not a fan of the big boats but man that thing is sick and really for the price your asking some one's going to get one hell of a deal. i went for a ride in one of howard arnesons old boats years ago and still remember it like it was yesterday.:D somebody needs to buy this thing its one heck of a deal. I'll bet if you put it up for sale in the back of the robb report mag it would be gone in week.

Tapa11
02-10-2007, 07:04 AM
It is a good deal, and someone is going to get a very nice boat. It's been kept inside, never sat outside no longer than riding it for a day, and never been rained on or in. It's just as clean as a new one. I'm very particular about my boats. If anyone is serious about this boat and want's to see it, I will gaurantee the cleanliness of this boat by if it isn't as clean as I say, I will pay for your trip here. I think that is putting your money where your mouth is.

Turbine has been completly gone through serviced and dynoed. Tolerances have been checked also. Ted (turbine installer) said it ought to be good for at least 3000 hrs. before overhaul. I don't know alot about turbines other than what he has told me. What I do know is that it's something different and has dock appeal.
