I have four Kicker 6.5's in the cockpit, they came in my 2004 Eliminator ... I have a 10 inch sub down below with a dedicated amp for the sub. What I am needing advice on is ... "what is a good marine amp for my four 6,5's ? I have a pioneer ... I think it's about a 50 watt unit. I stopped by a popular stereo place in Havasu and I was quoted about $900 just to get an amp and have it installed.
That's way too much dough for me , can anyone suggest where I can get a decent amp and install for around $500 in Havasu? Thanks, Mike K.

That price is actually a pretty good deal depending on what amp it is. Remember they have to run rca's to the amp and then speaker wire out to all the speakers. This means taking apart alot of the boat. Let me know what amp it is and I will get you pricing on that part. You also have to figure the wires for the amp and speaker wire. The wiring alone should be over a $100 bucks. Normal install prices run about $60 to $80 an hour. It is probably a min four hour job from start to finish. Hope that helps.

Oh my god, take that 50 watt amp and garbage it( or sell it on e-bay ) put in like a 400 watt amp for the sub--basic plug and play shit. If the other amps location in where the next one will making it's home...bonus :) Power-remote-ground , just wire into it..Pull out your deck and attach new RCA cables--plug into amp and wire in speakers ( directions are in the box )..with the amp..It's a no brainer Mike...............( . )( . )............:)

Dang ! ... I guess I have to give up the Kraco's and the 8 tracks and up the ante or I'll be sorry ... what is a halfway decent amp for the 6.5's ... on a scale from 1 to 10 .. say around a 8?

For clarification : the 50 watt is the rating on the receiver ..the amp I have for the Sub is a Clarion APX280 but that only cost me about $200.
