You cannot use an open face helmet in a capsule when Racing with the IHBA.

i herd the same and being told diffrent its not for me i dont have a capsule yet a friend was looking he is running bfj (duel drive jet)..sam

its true, ihba wont let you use open anymore, but i believe njba does. tony pulido has a nice set up he would prob sell. 805-797-1841

I just checked our rule book ... and it doesn't state it ... but I'm 99.9% positive that we (NJBA) passed a safety rule about 2 years ago outlawing the open face helmets.
I've contacted Jim Guthrie and Joe Shelfo Sr. about it they both think we voted it in that the open faces are no longer allowed.
Of course we are all at work and don't have our notes w/ us.
I will check it out and let you know ... but I seriously can't remember the last open face helmet user and/or why anyone would use it knowing what it could do to your face in the case of an accident.
