John ...
How are you feeling these days? Good to here from you. Is your boat ready? And, do you know how early we can get in there? In the old days of COBRA they wouldn't open the gates until 8. The last APBA race there, guys had there boats in there the day before.

Ross if your lurkin out there... let me know if you want us to put on the usual boat show. Jerry Jerry, I forgot to mention to you that they want to do the boat show. Kimbo won't be able to handle it this year so we (you & I) have to get some boats rounded up. If there is anyone with a v-drive who would like to show there boat at the Long Beach races on August 9th let us know. We will be taking a limited number and (25 to 30 boats) you can contact Jerry at V-Drive video(909-989-8682) or myself(909-982-8555) so we can let Ross know whats up.

Whats up BillllllllY!! Hey HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUD, whats crackin???. Threw my back out real bad on Thursday, I look like the leaning tower of Piza. I had a guy try and crack it yesterday at the cafe were we go on Friday mornings cause I couldn't even sit down. The look on peoples faces as I laid on the bench with a big guy trying to snap my back was pretty funny. I'm so jacked up it's actually funny!!!

Yeah, enjoy the quiet races. Be sure to get pictures of the butt ugly mufflers that are required to race there. Can't the scsc find a REAL race course. Hope the tides not out...
LBMS sucks!!!!!!!!!

gottaminute?
07-12-2003, 05:42 PM
no mufflers required... LBMS ROCKS !!!!!!!!
WE do have to run a 90 degree tip to direct noise up though. Small sacrifice for racin' 20 minutes from home

Don't let good ol boy Billy pull your leg about hurting his back. It's all smoke and mirrors,
trying to be the underdog and look for sympathy.
The real plan is to pretend he is injured so he can show up at Red Rock this year unsuspected and SMOKE you all. Noone will suspect it. The cat is out of the bag now...I told him it would never work.

When did they remove the muffler requirement? Have you raced there lately? I know in the early nineties we were required to run these butt ugly, big old things that did have a 90* on the end. I can't imagine the noise restrictions lightening up, anybody know anything for sure about the mufflers for inboard classes.....Moneypitt
P.S. LBMS sucks!!!!!!!!!

There is no requirement for mufflers or turnup tips. And yes there will be two nostalgia classes running. Flat bottoms and all others. A $30.00 entry fee for nostalgia only. If you pre register it's only 20 bucks. Cheeper than dinner at McDonalds.

Your right Jim, nothing on the sanction about 90 deg. tips!!! The Stadium's awesome!! Saltwater, thick air and 20 min. from home, it don't get any better.

P.S. LBMS is so so September 1999 when APBA ran it's first race there in 20 years. Then, only the Super Stocks and one other class ran with no mufflers. Prior to that an organization called COBRA, which wasn't an APBA sanctioned club, ran at Long Beach with the big Flow Master mufflers. Now, I think all the classes run muffler free. SCSC is the Club running the race.

Yup ... I'll be there. Although, I don't think I can get the big air like you can at Bluewater, but hey, we can try !!!

Now, I think all the classes run muffler free. The past few years SS has been the only class to run without turnups or mufflers and we only had a certain amount of time to run unrestricted. That meant only one chance to go to the main, no C Main qualifier and they didn't want the boats fired up in the pits to flush the motor at the end of the day.

NOBODY has run mufflers at the stadium for last couple years!!

I haven't seen the midget and his boat in several years (except one appearance in his backyard at Firebird) How would he know what goes on at Long Beach. Scott needs to check his sources, no mufflers at Long Beach since he was running his old boat.

But, hey, what do I care? I got my own problems. wink

Scott .. I'll be stopping in Phoenix tomorrow to pickup a flight to DC on business. How's the weather in AZ at 8:30 in the morning? Hope there's bar open in the airport. It'd be great to see ya at Long Beach. Karl says the SS boat count is up to 14 Monday.

Well Larry, let me put it this way: I leave for work at 4:15am and it's HOT. burningm
It should, however, be nice and cool in the airport bar. :D
14 boats huh? I bet Karl isn't counting me; I'm sending my SSRA stuff in today.
