So, miller regata sometime this summer? I don't care if it's just miller boats but it would be good to get all of you miller owners out to the river. Its early now, but damnit I can't wait for summer to hit and I need something to look forward too. Oh yeah, post up some pics of your miller!
~Brian
p.s. how can I get them to just pop up on the screen??

Yeah, I was hopin there was more miller owners out there! The avi sounds great. I really like their beach. My pop lives down in needles so that would make it easy for me. Needles itself has a great stretch of river in front of it and really nicely built fresh launch ramp at Jack Smith park. Parker is a really nice stretch of river too... So I donno, who likes where?

01-27-2007, 04:36 PM
My Miller is stripped. I tore it all the way down to a bare hull, gelled the interior surfaces, and had MPD put a setback Berkeley in place of the jacuzzi that the boat came with. I still have to take it back to MPD to have a rail kit fabbed. Switched from a 455 to a BBC. Once the mounts are done it's time to completely rewire and reassemble.

What did you use to paint the inside of your boat and how are you going to set that interior up? No carpet I assume?
~Brian

'75 Miller
01-28-2007, 03:20 PM
It's polyester gelcoat, pigmented light blue and black. Then Duratec polyester high gloss topcoat. It's shiny & slippery! Original dark blue interior with barrel type front seats with attached side-facing rears for now. At some point I'd like to have it redone like the pic.
No carpet.

Very nice! I dig the look of the rear bench seat but I have found how comfortable those cocktail style seating are. So, when do ya'll think is a good date to set this "Miller" regata? I was thinking about sometime around labor day? We could get together at the Avi for some fun times.

The Avi sounds good, real nice beach to hang out, but I think we like to stay in Laughlin, more to do at night. We'll be glad to boat down and hang out for the day! I can't wait, been tinkering around in the garage all day. Took the interior out, replacing the alternator, starter, battery & cables. Just want to give a little TLC back to her for treating me so good after all these years.
I think your thinking of Memorial Day weekend... I don't think you want to wait till September do you? Anyways....sounds good to me!:D :D :D

Your probably right. Although, My pops lives in the river so I'll be fine on rates. :) I don't seem to be getting much feedback on when a good weekend is however. Im just tossin dates in the wind and see if anyone picks up on the idea. I do have to get my new false bottom and carpet in before I head back out to the river...

March isn't good for me I have already asked for two weekends off that month for some weddings. *snore* I have to keep the families happy. I was thinking more along the lines of July or June. :( Im down with Havasu, but the river doesnt beat my boat up as much. Its usually not as choppy as that big ole lake. But, water is water and getting together with ya'll would be fun anywhere.

I did a ground up 3 years ago. Still original gel coat but interior was done by Martinez in Corona and he does very good work. My seats originally were on the sides but I wanted something different. It carries 4 with an ice chest (very important) or 5 for a cruise and as we all know the more riders the slower. I fancy Blythe but I would be interested in trailering to meet up with the Miller crowd.

The date for the Regatta will be July 13, 14, 15. Its after the 4th so it wont be too crowded but we should still have fun. So, I need names of people so I can look into group rates and I am going to seal in my reservation. I want all of our miller owners to come, but its cool for any other hot boat.
