Home Depot - sewer line caps are a perfect fit and $2.00 bucks , then vinyl dye from Advance Auto to your choice of color. But then I'm cheap on non - vital engine parts, and save the big bucks for the hard core parts.

Just make a couple out of cardboard and have your local welder make a pair and have them chromed. Probably the same cost as buying some name brand.

Those fit perfect, just wondering how they react to he headers when hot or are the headers cold enough not to worry about them melting??

Do you need them for towing or just for the pits?
If just for the pits,I have a set your welcome to.
For towing,I use 8 large muffler plugs for dirtbike exhaust.

Sanger-Rich,
Running alky, so they cool really quick. So with in a minute or two I can put them on, I have never seen any signs of them trying to melt - the tips are still fairly warm. I would think if running gas they would be really hot and stay hot for an extended period of time. I just use them to keep out water/trash when not fired up or when transporting the boat. I think best bet to pick one up and try it, the cool thing about them is you can dye them to match the boat with vinyl dye and it looks decent.

We used the Bud aluminum bottles cut in half when we fired it with zoomies - a great reason to try the aluminum Bud! They got hot quick - and one thing to consider, Mr. C is right, towing is one thing and to protect tempature effects from cool air hitting the valves is another. When we ran a Funny Car, it didn't matter because of the length. Short zoomies are an issue with valves, so the longer the better, but then you get into the advanteges of scavenging. The main thing is to keep the cold air from hitting the valves, that is the open red hot valves, as they might not be the same shape when they try and seal again. Even a towel over the zoomies works provided it does not catch fire. We use towels rolled up on the turbo exhaust for one reason, one foreign object in the turbine could ruin our day.
