We need to get a 22ft boat and a Rhino to and from the river this summer.
Any ideas how to tow both behind our Class A RV?

Buy the smallest enclosed fifth wheel you can and tow both trailers at once.;) Or you could have a trailer custom built or modify yours to haul both the boat and Rhino, although the weight balance might be tricky.:)

Call Kustom Trailers they make do all kinds of mods to your trailer

We can't pull our 22' behind our 40' A class in CA as the legal length is 65'

To double tow, the first trailer has to be fifth wheel with brakes. Also you need your class A.

Get a strorage unit at the river.....at $100/month it will be safer and cheaper than towing back and forth ......just a thought.

Ok probably closer to $150 depending on the size unit you need. We paid $150 for a 35' x 12' in Havasu. Still cheaper than a custom trailer. 150 x 4 months is only $600.....

You could push the tounge to the side and snug the rhino up against the other wall and maybe get away with 30-32 ft unit.
The better (not much:rolleyes: ) fuel economy you'd get will offset the cost of the unit.

really? A good friend of mine has towed his sea-doos behind his boat with a Suburban or 2500 for the last 10 years with a class c.
Oh and its also strange that trailer manufactures make trailers (non-5th wheel) with a receiver on the rear of the trailer that are sold at dealerships.

Just cause he does it does not mean he is legal. Definately not legal. Some trailers come with reciever tubes so you can add racks/bike racks etc. not for towing.

I never knew anything like this existed.

I flat tow my jeep behind our motorhome and now I can get the kids quads out to the desert without having to also take my truck.
I had no idea anything like this existed. It is not considered a trailer. Just a platform extension. I am going to order one.
Thanks for this link.:D

Bear trailers had a trailer at the boat show that had a rack on top that would fit a rhino. The little long travel truck they had on top was bad ass. Beartrailersports.com

I saw one guy towing a 40' Tow hauler with one of those on the back with 2 quads on it..... It is legal to do since it doesnt have a pivot point between the rear little wheel and the king pin. .......
Depends, CA has length, weight and endorsement issues to deal with. Not to mention LEO may pull u over to check and if (hehe) u been drinking...
I use the extra fuel and take 2 trucks (then i dont have to listen to her)

I've seen a lot of people with racks over there boat. My uncle, had a rack made for the back of his boat trailer(side ways). I know the Rhino is a little long but he was never bothered. I believe he had the trailer axles moved to accomidate the weight.

I didn't think that the first trailer had to be a fifth wheel hitch anymore in California. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, the 1st trailer has to be a 5th wheel no longer than 28'6". You also have to have a class A license with a doubles endorsement. I did my homework on this issue about 4 years ago so I would be legal to tow my boat and 5th wheel together.
