I have my workshop together, and would like to get some drywall up now. I have come to a point where I am not an expert. :)
Anyone out there do drywalling for a living and can give me some pointers, or if there is someone out there that can let me know how much it would cost to have someone drywall, or even better someone that could help my dad and I install it?
Here are some pictures.

Give Manny a call at 909-319-7049. He does paint and drywall on the side. He works for a large paint contractor and knows his stuff. His guys painted my house and did some drywall and paint work at my office. Top notch work for a very good price. Cheap enough that I let him do the work instead of doing it myself.
Good luck,
Chris Mock

Hire someone.... we just did our whole river house last year and about 1/2 way through I realized we should have just paid someone to do it. Its not dificult, just a PITA

Mark's Drywall 619-997-5151 If you give him a sheet count he can at least give you a price. It's probably too far for him to go.....but his prices are fair. Tell him Richard at Spectrum gave you his number. He's a cool guy.
He has a Sea Ray.....:D

Heres a pointer. Don't try it yourself. It's a pain in the ass. Worst type of labor EVER. Hanging it isn't even the worst part. Then you have to tape it.
My buddy owns Direct Construction (formerly Tri-Con), and they have a sattelite office somewhere in the 909. PM me and I'll give you his cell.

take into consideration the size of the "building" that job would be easy.....
ceiling first, then upper walls, then lowers. don't use that sticky-net type
joint tape, it sucks....... paper tape isn't easy to use, but is much much
stronger.........go buy a sheetrock a/c milwaukee screwgun.........
regular box of joint compound for first coat, and thin coat for top coat.
use of a wet sponge to flatten semi-dried compound is much, much, much
cleaner than pure sanding alone......... you'll still have to sand though...

come on you can do it ,, yes it is a pain in the can ...but its not rocket science .....measure , cut ,install with screws ( tip ...buy the setting tip for your screw gun so you dont over /under screw in the drywall ) if you framed it correctly everything should go smooth ....oh another tip hang the ceiling first , then the walls .. tapping is another thing ...dont let anybody tell you it is easy , it is an art form ..to little your joints show ..to much and you will be sanding for days on end .....yes i have many years of experiance . take your time and measure twice , then cut once ....the white side go's out :D

one more thing in your case , stand the boards up , ther will be less taping involved and a lil easier to install :D

Thanks for all the info..
I think I am going to give it a try. My only concern was the ceiling. Taping I am not too worried about as I have plenty of time...its holding up 80lb (or whatever they weigh) pieces of drywalll up and trying to screw them in

you can rent a drywall ceiling jack ..that will hold the drywall in place in the ceiling while you screw it down /up and it is on wheels ...united carries it

Measure twice cut once. That room would be a piece of cake! Go from top to bottom. Be sure to use corner metal on the windows and door case. Tape it tight. Just a thin layer of mud the first two coats, then float it, barly sand it, and your done. Or you can pay a pro to go help you and your dad get the sheets up and first coat of mud/taping. You can even texture the walls with a hopper if you don't want to make if perfect and smooth. The texture will make the walls looks perfect and flat with a lite texture. Like new houses are done.

You could use 12 foot sheets and have very little taping if the blocking in the wall is correct for the joints.

Decided to do it myself.
Neighbor came over last night and we rushed up to home depot before it started raining again and got 18 sheets. Installed the ceiling, pieces around one of the windows and one sheet on the wall last night. my neighbor is heading over to my house to work on it this morning while I am working. Says he loves doing drywall and has nothing to do tomorrow since he is waiting for things for his house. I have great neighbors :D
Thanks for all the help !!

NEVER DO THAT. It will crack at the joint. I don't care who taped it. other reasons: you will be wasting lots of drywall, its against code almost ever where in the use, makes uneven walls show more and etc ...
hanging rock is not really hard, but it is very heavy dusty work.
Your going to want to rent a lift for ceiling... I rent one even when I only have to install one piece. The $20 a day is well worth not having to try to hold it with your head and skrew it.
If you were a little closer I'd throw out a bid/ you pay for my time and I'll help deal.
