Well, the wife has agreed to a larger boat, so I'm now in the initial stages of marketing the boat. I've had a ton of fun with the boat and I've spared no expense creating it. This is an excellent hot rod that has never seen the drag strip (much to the dismay of my engine builder), and had been only used with my family. You can even keep up on Poker Runs with the other boats without a problem. This is a truly turnkey boat that I had built with only one idea - reliability and low maintenance. It has lived up to this and performed beyond anything I had hoped for.

I even spoke with Dave about the worth of the engine and what I could expect to sell it for. It turns out Dave recommended 60-65 cents on the dollar to be realistic.. I'm ok with that. At 60cents on the dollar, this is $21,875.
I will sell this engine for NO LESS than $20K.
That's my bottom offer, and this is more than a fair price. Talk to others on the forums that have DNE engines and what they expected initially to pay for it, and what they actually did pay for it.

What the hell is your deal? I don't understand you, and why you are attacking this. If you don't want it, then don't buy it. Go disparage someone else.
I had an original engine that came with the boat, and yes I had problems with it immediately. Seller owned up and gave me a partial refund. Then I scrapped the whole thing and started from scratch with Dave Ebbert.

Please stop disparaging this engine. The fact still remains that I do have receipts for parts and DNE labor that add up to over $35K. Your personal opinion and valuation means nothing in the face of such documentation.
I'm disappointed you would continue to pollute this ad with such comments as a result of your offer being declined.

i was at westech the day the motor was dynoed and spent a day with dave installing the motor.the motor is no bs-except for some minor jetting and timing changes on dyno day it ran all day no problems and has ran in the boat no problems.it was dynoed on 91 octane pump gas.if you spend money wth dave you are also paying for his service-he backs up his work.you can get a copy of national dragster and whip out a visa card and get a bbc motor shipped to your house.but when you blow it up because you were running lean or your tanks didnt have enough fuel flow that crate engine builder will tell you where to put your new f%^ked up motor.if somebody is smart enough to build a bbc in their garage then they can save some money and do it themselves.diggler wanted to have something that runs with out problems so he bellied up and paid to have the boat done by a pro.as far as what it is worth-its worth whatever he can sell it for.he might have a markiting problem on his hands but i am sure he knows this .we should all wish him good luck.

Good lord, having one of Dave's engines doesn't mean you know the value of every engine he has ever built.
For instance, I know there is an engine he built to run on 89 octane with lower compression and less quality parts that will cost less.
On the other hand, there are engines that cost dramatically more that Dave has built.
It all depends on what you asked Dave to build for you. Receipts for parts add up to value X. Receipts for Dave's labor add up to value Y. Add X + Y = price less 40%, hence the price I've offered for the engine alone.
SofaKing, I think you are a real dick for posting the crap that you havel. We have certain values we place on items that we own. Regardless of whether I want to sell it for $100,000 or $10,000 is my business and mine alone. Randy was right, the boat/engine is worth what it will sell for.

D&Y Digglers boat is the bomb. We've seen it on a lot of our Delta Runs and at Shasta Cat Attack. It's reliable, fast and he goes everywhere we go even in the bigger boats. Its perfect for a younger person (digglers getting up there ya know) who wants to rip it up and look cool doing it. Take a look at it you won't be dissapointed

You can fit an amazing amount of stuff under the bow, under the seats, and in the sponsons. I've put the coolers in the sponsons many times (of course not one of those 30 gallon monsters). It's all about unloading it once you get to where you're going, and then go rip it up for the day. I even have the box anchor and sand wedge that comes with the boat so you can tie it offshore.
The one thing about this boat being so unique is that you end up having everyone that wants a ride (which is not a bad thing). It drives my wife nuts that I am constantly approached by women wanting to go for a spin. Just think, 0-60mph in a little under four seconds with some gal's top flying off. Not a bad thing at all. :D

I have a co-sign(grandma)...but she wont do anything for at least a month...(complicated). I thought about a partner(friend)..but i hate sharing stuff so thats now out of the question. Sucks being young with little credit history...but i wont be dumb and pass up a sick boat if i can get it. We'll see what develops real soon. Summer is just around the corner and I dont have a boat in my driveway yet and im paranoid that all the sick stuff will be gone by May.. I can tell you this thing is amazing to ride in. I've been one (not 1 of the lady's) to beg for a ride, and it was not disappointing. Acceleration was a kick in the ass, and it has such a smooth ride. No one will be sorry buying this one. If I was in the position I want to be in, I'd buy this for guys days, and something bigger for family days. There will be no disappointments from who ever is luck enough to pick this up.

I was in the same position as you when I bought my boat. A lot of banks won't give credit beyond 135% of your previous largest credit on a recreational toy. For those who saved and paid cash for a lot of things, this can hurt you when it comes to a boat loan. I found a lender that does loans up to $49,999 and holds the paper on their own books so the 135% kicker does not affect this. If you need the info, let me know. This will help you stop being a kicker.

I was in the same position as you when I bought my boat. A lot of banks won't give credit beyond 135% of your previous largest credit on a recreational toy. For those who saved and paid cash for a lot of things, this can hurt you when it comes to a boat loan. I found a lender that does loans up to $49,999 and holds the paper on their own books so the 135% kicker does not affect this. If you need the info, let me know. This will help you stop being a kicker.

Terry, I really really thank you for the props on the boat. I can honestly say that anyone that purchases this boat will be amazed at their ability to keep up with the "big guys", and in many instances outpace them on long haul runs. When we were in Shasta, we ran for the entire day and I only burned 26 gallons. not too bad!

I don't know why the moderators didn't move this thread after to benchracers as soon as the boat was sold ... but I don't think diggler and sofa were arguing anymore when people chimed in ... sofa asked a question of diggler ... diggler didn't like the question ... sofa and he posted a couple of posts and then here came D&Y ... that's why the "posse" chimed in IMO.
Not because of diggler and sofa's conversation.
It was all after the sale to D&Y when he called out sofa and told him that he was gonna tell him what he thought of him over a week later.
This is how I read it ... I think sofa was clearing up what a DNE motor costs for others as he is a good customer and friend of Dave's (of DNE). If ANYONE should know what a DNE motor is or isn't IMO ... it is sofa as he has multiple DNE motors from what I know. So I don't even know if it was meddling so much as stating what he thought a good offer for the motor was.

D&Y ... enjoy your new ride ... it's really clean and a nice ride. You have a great motor, Dave builds awesome engines ... take care of it.
My advice ... take it or leave it ... next time, don't have a knee jerk reaction and call out someone before knowing who they are and/or what they have. I've done it many times when I was younger ... and usually had my ass handed to me. It takes a bigger man to admit when he's wrong than one to keep it going when he know's he's wrong.
I'm sure Joe would laugh this off if you said you were sorry and moved on.
The so called "posse" you've stirred up is everyone you will need advice from TRUST ME. If you don't know who they are yet, you will soon ... owning that boat, you will need hardware / parts / etc. and you will need their help. Some may be answering the phone at the shops you might be calling to order those parts.
Again, congrats, have fun ... and good luck. I invite you to come out to NJBA and run the boat ...you'll have a blast and probably have it running faster than it ever has by the end of the weekend.

I dont have the time or cant afford to have negativity in my day; so heres the deal...
Sofa said what he did about the boat months ago. He and Diggler got in a little argument over it. I then chimed in because I thought the boat was worth more than sofa did. So sofa said if you like it so damn much than buy it.:idea: What a great idea because I then did.:D
As we all know, there are alot of guys that come on here that dont even own a boat and bad mouth others people's stuff. Obviously Sofa is NOT one of them. Most of you knew that way before I did.
I've already said what I felt necessary to Sofa. Im not here to bicker and make enemies. I offered to race him for fun and offer him a cold one if I see him on the river. I believe I did my job in stepping up like a man and admitting what I need to.
From this point on I have no hard feelings to anyone on this thread and will wave with ALL fingers in the air if I see you on the river.:D If some of you have nothing better to do but make wise cracks and keeping talking crap, then so be it. I will not entertain any off your posts from this day on.
