Well, we were coming back from the Delta and the tow ball snapped. The trailer started swerving, then it hit a gaurdrail when we were going over a bridge overpass. The boat preceeded to fly off the trailer, spin out on the freeway and land perfectly in the lane....however, it was missing the both sponsons.....The boat was trashed. Funny story now but not that day!!! No Insurance on it either

We were out testing boats a few years back at Wildwood on Ft.Gibson. We usually used a ramp out away from the main park so the trailers could be left in the water and Trent Stogsdill was the first to be launched. Well, the water was down and couldn't float it. Pulled him out and headed for the main ramp and had to go through the fee shack. Would have made a classic picture of a Blown Alcohol Flat with a suited up driver in the boat paying his three bucks to the attendant.

Bryan's Head ski resort, Utah, in the middle of August.
Took a wrong turn and ended up at 11000 feet altitude (give or take 3 feet).
I suck.

Yup, with my brand new (to me) 240 Sea Ray Sundancer (8000 lbs or so with trailer, fuel, and goodies). It was a VERY steep road, loose gravel, 1 1/2 lanes wide with absolutely NO place to turn around.
Maybe I posted under the wrong thread...it's not "funniest" but "stupidest"!:)
I got down okay...beautiful place up there, although I'll not be going back with a boat!

Brian Head is "Utah's highest resort town", and I think the road going up there is one of the steepest public highways in the country.....and it's kind of a fun little ski hill. The one time I went there, we checked into the main lodge at about 1:00 a.m. after driving from Las Vegas.
As we walked into our room, a little field mouse scampered out from under the bed and disappeared somewhere in the room. My girl friend at the time totally freaked out, and wouldn't sleep all night.
I kept her busy till the sun came up.....we were both hurting before we ever put our skis on.......:D

The funniest place?
Avalon.
I pulled it through the In n Out drive through in Havasu....over the curb, through a couple bushes, but seemed to fare OK.
Got it stuck backing into my carport at Martinez. Rain washed some of the gravel/dirt off of the road and the trailer's cross brace got wedged at the front edge of the concrete....front wheel of the suburban got stuck behind the neighbor's retaining wall. I was stuck, even in four low, the wheels were spinning in the gravel....I was pissed.
Had to detach it from the truck and push it sideways....at least its a quiet street. LOL

Just about any drive through. School (I was still in High school when I bought my Tahiti). The middle of a field. Work. The bank (drive through included). The offroad park of a hotel/resort I stayed at once at Table Rock Lake. :D
Also, I do consider it an accomplishment that I made it through the Taco Bell drive through with a flatbed trailer on. Those sum bishes are tight even without a trailer on.

............On a tow from Georgia to California, I managed to take two extremely wrong turns............This was in 2004..........I wanted to see New Orleans, so I dieseled my way up and down all those narrow little streets in and around The French Quarter...............I was towing a 21' Daycruiser, and was trying to find parking for my rig............I made a right turn, thinking I would be circling a block near the clubs I wanted to hit.............It was a big surprise when I discovered I had just gotten on a narrow ramp that was the entrance to a ferry,..... destination,... way down the Mississippi. Fortunately I got the two cars behind me to back down...........and with the help of onlookers, got the truck and boat out. The trickiest part was turning the rig around on some streetcar tracks that were not intended for vehicular traffic..........The plus to all this was I got to see the majority of New Orleans before it was destroyed............

............The second of my bonehead turns.........was in checking out El Paso Texas, I was looking at lifestyle differences on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande as compared to Mexico's......(not a whole lot of visual difference).......Somehow while parallelling the Rio, I had the option of turning right or crashing..........I took the right, and within 5 seconds I was in Mexico........After being interogated by the Mexican border guy I was on my way ( he wanted to know my intentions on bringing a boat such as this into Ciudad Juarez).........He told me that it was national election time in Mexico and to pay no attention to the sellers of political affiliation just ahead........By the time I got passed the group of phamplet and bumper sticker specialists, I had bumper stickers supporting every candidate running for anything, covering both bumpers.........At the time I knew nothing of the kidnappings and murders running rampant there..........After a short tour, I was out of there...........I left the bumper stickers on for a couple of weeks while in L.A........The removal was tuff....I don't know what kind of glue they use in Mexico but I'm sure it's illegal in the U.S.

I used to work on the tugboats on the Mississippi, one morning we came into the fleet office and there was a message waiting. The night before someone got drunk and was haulin azz up the river at about 70 mph in a big baja with no spotlight at night! He said all he saw was a bunch of seagulls take off and then bam. drove the boat so far up the beach the drives were about 75 ft. from the water. Needless to say calling up our biggest tugboat to get a pull was not cheap. - At least he didn't hit any trees though

Strangest place I had it, funny enough, was the drop off at the river palms in the middle of the harley river run. every one looked at me like I was crazy. I had to verify with the hotel that there was still water in lake mohave. There was barely room to get my boat through and I missed a couple of bikes by less than a foot with their owners standing there eye-balling me. it was a fun weekend though.
