View Full Version : LA Boat Show - 1st Day Pictorial Highlights

The show wasn't as crowded as I expected it to be for the first day (wasn't crowded at all). I didn't take as many pictures as I thought I would. The ones I took were mostly of motors (lots of Ilmor V-10s especially in the Eliminator boats), gel coats, instrument panels and my favorite boat (a 28'er that is fast as a bullet :D ).
Here are the pics:

28' Bullet
This is one of two red 28' Bullets that are in Howard's booth. This one is the darker red and has a 900TPI and is headed to its home in Tennessee after the show. It's gonna make its new owner very happy (and very fast).

That is the power for the 32' Lavey. That was there last year, also. I would love to have this boat. Anyone have a extra 200k I could have. :)

I was told that the base price of the 28 Bullet is around 90K with a 496 motor. The "Red Barron" (I believe that's the name of the dark red boat) is closer to $200K than $100K due to the 900 TPI motor.
They had three 28 Bullets there - the Red Barron, the brigth red one with no motor in it (I was told it was made for the show since they didn't think the Red Barron would be there) and the white and blue one. I know the Red Barron is sold to someone in TN. I'd guess the white one belongs to a customer and I'd also guess that the bright red one might be available (but I don't know for sure about either).
The pics I posted are the only ones I took yesterday but I may go back so let me know if you need any pics and I can try and take them for you.

The Blue and Gray Howard 28 Bullet is a customer's boat. There are two "Boat Show Specials" - one 25 Bullet and one 28 Bullet that are for sale or were when I left last night.
25 Bullet:

28 Bullet:
http://www.lasvegas***boats.com/iB_html/uploads/post-6-62650-howard_8.jpg
Both of these were minus motor and drive. Buyer picks there power and 3 to 4 weeks will be delivered (if still available). Otherwise, a Howard ordered now will be June delivery.

Same here. My initial impressions were:
1. Kilr is taller than I thought he'd be, but dead on personality wise.
2. Mrs. Roxysnow is hotter in person than in pix.
3. Mrs. Kilr still has one of the best smiles I've ever seen.
4. GHT is one handsome dude. You should be a movie star. :D
Pleasure meeting all you guys finally.
MsGHT wants to know what you impression is of her??? (J/K) She is like WTF?? She enjoyed meeting you too.
BTW thank for the compliment... :) Hopefully we'll hook up in Havi this summer..

Hey Mr mtn dan,
Thanks for the positive input, yes we are proud of our boat.
I think everyone has the lowdown on the boat show boats from Essex502.
The boat was rather pricey, when you look at the parts list . It becomes overwhelming. Not quite 200k though, but we were sneeking up fast.
We have thought about it and everything has a price, we are extremely happy with the Howard product. And overwhelmed by the engine from TPI.
It is a quality setup.
But if someone wrote a check, I would have a hard time turning it down...
See you guys at the show....flyin to LAX on the 31st........MP

Too funny, my thoughts as well. For a while I though maybe the Kachina guy knocked one off over at Commander - if you drive the 91 thru Corona ya know what I'm talking about. Not bagging on anybody's boats - just not my style.

Hey Mee-shell, thanks for asking. Mrs. MMD is doing better now - had back surgery two weeks ago (it only took 18 months since she was injured at work thanks to California's workers comp "system"). She's finally on the road to recovery and we can get back to a more normal way of life.
Appreciate you asking. Say hey to the Mr. Well, nevermind, I'm sure he's reading this too. :)
