When they admitted Lawrence "Livin' under a bridge" Taylor to the Hall, then drug use off the field was tacitly condoned.
While I don't think much of Irvin and his white mink coat, he was a damn good football player.

My corner of the bleachers doesn't condone drug usage, on or off the field, but then I'm not in charge of anything.
Irvin was one seriously good player, I'll give him that, and I think he deserved it otherwise.
I guess at least he didn't BET on football.

I don't think the coke enhanced his playing abilities. Imagine what he could have done sober. Babe ruth and Mickey Mantle played drunk. America has always chosen fuccups as heros.:D

I could play some pretty intense football when I'm juicing! Get me on the field after an eight ball and my 6 year old daughter could kick my ass! Steroids are a part of the game like it or not! Drugs are a part of the game aswell. Irvin was just stupid enough to be at the wrong place wrong time.....
