I am in San Diego and I am looking to buy. Looking for an 18-21 foot. Preferrably a 454 or 460 with Berkely jet. I would like an enclosed motor with transom through exhaust. I want to spend $5,000 or less. No projects.

I am an in no big hurry. I found some pretty decent turn key boats in So Cal for $5,000 already but they were just a little off of what I was looking for. I will keep searching.
Anyone else have something for sale?

K-Dog- Step it up to $7,500 and you will find a good boat with decent power and somewhat tuned set-up. I bought my old Hallett for $4,500 5 years ago and the motor was tired, the pump shot, and the trailer worked. If you want a nice hull prepare to spend between 7-10K for a turnkey beatiful boat. An old Challenger is probably attainable for your original price but will most likely need work. This is just advice from someone who has been there and done that. It is worth spending a little more money and definitely do a compression test on the engine and PUT THE BOAT IN THE WATER ANDF TEST DRIVE IT BEFORE YOU HAND OVER THE CASH.

I know a guy with a 19' Eliminator with a C pump with a diverter and a 460. Has custom gas tanks. Motor and pump are good, motor is covered. Interior is ugly but useable and everything works. The gel is has a couple of rough spots, but the boat is sound. $3700. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

I have a 1976 Spectra for sale, 460, berkley almost new condition. Don't miss this one. I bought it from the original owner, he spent 8K on a new motor and pump one year ago. Im selling it to put money into a V drive project I just picked up. I want $8000, a little more that you wanted to spend but worth the extra. email me at tpaul7@cox.net and I'll send some photo's. Oh, by the way its in Tucson.

For 5 G's your not going to find a boat that you won;t have to put any money into it. Spend 4 grand more and you can have mine... Dude this is a turn key boat, You won't have to put one dime into it. If you find one for 5G's you are going to have to put some money into it.... Again I have it listed for 10 but will let a ***boater have it for 9... This is a good deal..... You won't be disappointed....Check it out.....

Look on sandiego.craigslist.org and boattrader.com and see what you can find. For 5K you should be able to find something decent. I was looking for a while and saw a few in that range that looked decent. But prices are starting to come up now that the season is right around the corner. Good luck.....
