My v-drive is an old style hemi with 18's. There are no numbers stamped on the gears indicating what degree the drive is. I would like to replace it with a casale. How can I tell if it's a 10 or 12 deg.? I believe it's a 12 because it's so old. Any help appreciated.

If it's not a Casale, It's might be a straight gear box, installed at an angle. Look at the input and output shafts, and if they are not parallel, then you could use an angle finder to check it out. If you are re-rigging the boat anyways, a 10 or 12degree box wouldn't matter, becuase you have to re-align and drill new holes anyways.

gunslinger, Your HEMI V-Drive is 10 degrees.
Like Ducky says you could use a 10 or 12.
A 10 would be the best deal.
I can help you with either.
New or used.. :) TOM..
