Im looking at a 77 Hallett and I know it is a heavier boat but rides well because of it. It has a BBF 460 with rpm performer intake manifold and a demon carb. The guy says it does 50 mph. I was hoping for 60 mph. I know thats a far reach and would need a small blower for 60 but what else can I do to increase the speed. It doesnt have a diverter...I hear that a diverter will help.....how much increase? Any other cheap stuff to increase speed. I know its the magic ongoing question. Thanks.

lol, buy a boat already:D if the boat is not set-up well and has a weak bbf, then it may do 60.i had my taylor sc 21ft doin 64.6mph gps with a mild bbf and jc berk, berk jet-o-vator elec. set-up. you need a mini daycruiser p.head, and if you want speed and room, go for a taylor sj or something similar.

when i found the sweet spot with my shoe and ride plate kit on my sj, it road and took wakes just as good as the 21ft taylor sc.sj's are heavy! and they have the potential to see 70+
