a stock 454 with a Edelbrock intake manifold, msd, and a holley 750cfm, turn a rebuilt Berk A imp at? What rpm's? Im only getting 4800. Should it be more? Before the pump rebuild, I was turning 5300. But the imp was in pretty bad shape.

What cam are you running? What is your compression ratio? Heads, size valves, solid/hydraulic roller/flat tappet? Running headers or logs?

Well with the pump being tight and new now, this will put more of a load on the engine, which would explain the drop from 5300 to 4800.
I'd say 4800 is pretty damn good for a pretty much stock built 454.

I was doing the same thing before I rebuilt my pump. Ran 5400 now am at 5000 rpm. Closed in the clearences on the wear ring, went from a stainless wear ring to a bronze shouldered. Have a B Imp. so I feel after running it a little more I should get her to loosen up some.
You could shave more off your Imp. so the water does'nt hold on for so long.
