So I'm sitting in my office and get this email for a special on eHarmony.com... I'm not much on the personals, but I'll cruise through them to see if anything appealing shows up... never does. I started their questionaire a few weeks ago, got bored and nixed it... I decide to go back in since they are running a special for like $19.95 a month, and I might find something aside from the chicks I meet at the bars, the one night stands, or the chicks like the "red headed totally nude stripper that had to retire because she blew out her knee" from last night... Anyway, I go through this damn frikkin' long ass questionaire that took me I guess 30 minutes to complete, go into detail on all this sappy "what am I passionate about"http://***boat.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif and "who is the most influential person in my life" crap... and I click to "start receiving matches"... and they kick it.:jawdrop: :jawdrop: It says "Unable To Match You At This Time" and that eHarmony is "not suitable for 20% of potential participants"...:jawdrop:
I wonder if the 5 marriages had anything to do with their decision?http://***boat.com/ubb/graemlins/idea_2.gif
What's that gray haired sumbitches name that runs that place???http://***boat.com/ubb/mad.gif

Ratso, your posts never fail to make me laugh out loud! :D
I went so far as to fill out a Yahoo Personals profile just recently. I was messaged by a bunch of girls right away (:o ) and decided I needed to make my profile unsearchable... I just felt "uncomfortible" about the whole thing. I've got friends that swear by Yahoo, Match, etc... There's even one guy who gets laid all the time on Adult "Friend" Finder! I just can't bring myself to do it.
Have you ever tried online personals before?

I'll surf them from time to time... never have done a profile because I see all these chicks on there that I wouldn't get within a mile of, and I damn sure don't want any of them contacting me...:jawdrop:
Adultfriendfinder can be kind of interesting, match.com seems to have a decent one for every hundred or so, and yahoo is downright terrible... at least around this area. I know TPC was the "personals" guru at one time... seems he found him a good one.;)

A few years ago my father died. It was the most heart wrenching thing to have happen to a family, to have your dad ripped away at an early age of 55. The toughest part is to accept the fact that Mom needs to move on also. Mom has never been a Bar person. She was always home for us and Dad. She was a housewife and also ran a business. So Mom's social life was with us.
My mother decided to us a service for finding a companion. E-Harmony appeared as the most appealing. She is a very good looking 60 year old woman. Always happy and I mean always happy. Shes great at everything... Since starting her adventure of using E-harmony she has met a few Men. I felt sorry for them.. for them to deal with three adult sons and protecting their mother has got to be a rough situation to go through. She has since rid the last few and almost gave up hope. Mom doesnt want to be lonely and I dont blame her, neither would I.
This last week she met a Man that is similiar in her situation. Hes a retired CHP, in his 60's and in great shape. He has hOtrods... My Mom bought one after my Dad died so she is finding things in common with him. He likes to Hunt like my Dad. He wants to travel and share it with someone. He also has a big cattle ranch up near Kern.. So far my Mom is happy. She's coming over for Dinner tonight to tell me more.
So, I dont think that some of the statements are fair. I think that these services are great if used properly... They are great for people that havent dated in decades...They are great for someone who's not in it to get laid or look for money. My mom is it just so she doesnt have to be lonely.
To say that the service my Mom used compares to "american bar bitches??", I think you have it wrong.
-peace out-

Ditto...one would think they'd tell you up front that there's a 20% chance you'll be wasting 30 minutes of your life filling out a completely useless form!!!

Let me test my memory here.
Didn't you two converse online for a full year before you met?
That's good.
It can work, ya just have know what you want, and how to spot what you don't want.
That can be a fuzzy line.
The premise of e harmony is marriage. It's more focused that way.
The other services seem more for dating, and if you hook up long term it's perhaps a bonus.

From doing online dating for a year I can tell you how your mom pulled it off for success:
She went in honest, stayed honest and it scared off the jerks.
90% of the people on the online personals can't do that. I'll stick my neck out and say maybe even 95% are posers.
Stay focused on what ya want,, stay honest, and with time it will work.
Honesty is the best policy online.

My step daughter is marring a guy she met online. My niece married from an online date. My ex sister in law married from online meeting. Wifes friend has been dating a guy for several years, soon to be married from online service. But they didn't have to modify the form where it said "check how many times you have been married"

I know what you mean on the "Posers"... a few chicks I know and have seen on the personals lie their asses off. One of my favorites is this one that "can't stand" the bar scene, but is in them 3 or 4 nights a week hooking up with any dick that will take her home... and has an athletic build... WTF???:jawdrop: LMAO!!! Rosie is built better than her...:D
