I grew up on Lake Ming, Looking through some old 8 mil camera and found reels from early to mid 60s drag races.
Did you know they started on the west beech headed east, opposite from right now.
Trying to find a way to get them posted also going through slides, I think I have found some good ones.
These boats are all glass over wood, some of the first props ever made
And there mint.:jawdrop:

If you run RR you will never hear the end of it.
I think UBFJ is going to be good this year... From what I remember last year it took an 8.40 or so to get through first round, I was on the trailer after 2nd round pretty much every race, I always seemed to draw the 496 or 334 boat 2nd round due to my crappy qualifying. Watch out for that 7.90 gullwing this year.

CS
Chris here's what the rule book said in the point section.
5. Points will be awarded to the boat number and the owner of that number.
6. A member may put his number on any boat owned by him, but only on one (1) boat
for any particular event. Ownership and title must be officially documented at the time
of registration. Official documentation will be, at a minimum, a notarized Bill of Sale.
7. Pints cannot be transferred from one number to another, or from one owner to
another.
Looks like to me if you own both boats and they are in the same cat/bracket, and you can prove ownership with correct documentation, its permitted

No ... probably 65-70? But in the past, a few racers "used" RR as test n tune ... we stopped allowing it, then a couple slipped past Roger @ registration ... then of course the ones we told couldn't run in that class caused a big stink ... etc. etc. etc.
Just trying to head it off at the pass if others (not you) try to slip through again.
We need to have a place for the new guy w/ his river boat at an affordable price ... while doing that, we don't want to ruin it for him by pairing him w/ a 7 second blown alcohol race boat (or something like that) in river racer.

First race will be in a bracket (hopefully 9.0s or 9.50) and either Pro Gas or UBFJ, its a legal PGJ but that class is sometimes low on boats cause everyone went to UBFJ so we may go there too with this boat.
As far as my boat goes Ill be in the 8.50 bracket and UBFJ but its not ready yet, goals this season are to handle a few grudge matches and have fun, Im not in it for points this year.

rcb gettin his swerve on the 405 freeway last saturday night. thought you was some crazy mofo trying to buy my boat when you pulled alongside me. lol
Ya I saw the outline of a hot rod tunnel in the dark in front of me. Had the phone cam ready to snap some pics when I rolled up on it & realized it was you. Looks like you have it pretty much back together.

Hey just looked at the IHBA schedule. Looks like San Diego is happening this year. Unfortunately its the same date as an NJBA race. Looks like thats the only conflicting date though.

he's gonna have to chase him down on a bicycle because i dont thing Robert has a race boat now.
And a bicycle will probably beat me too.The race boat has sold so now i will be photographing boat races here and there as well as some psca car races this year.
Plus i dont have to wait til driving is over to drink beer i can now start when i wake up which later leads to acrobatic bike riding over curbs ai cant see.:D
besides braun was always trying to chase me down when i ran 9.50 class :D think i raced him 4 times that year good to see him have a good year last season :)

Hey Chris I will be running comp flat and the 8.0 bracket , what are you running.
Good luck. Be careful out their. I seen you run a few times last year and get out of shape a little.

Thats probably a good thing the boat is sold. I saw that thing flying through the lights more than you drove it through.

Quality Inn ... 661-325-0772
AAA discounts, indoor jacuzzi, outdoor pool, washing machine room, sliders downstairs directly to your vehicle, Circle K across the street for beer, etc. etc, etc.
It's older, but in the 80's and 90's the lot was full of drag boats. Carrow's Resturant is in the parking lot too. Right next door to the Hampton Inn on California Ave.
We used to stay there ... until the trailer came along. I think it's like $75/night or so?
Good times were had there

Boat ended up being sold less motor and central cal.Motor is now in a car for that will soon see psca races.
You should have bought motor for your boat then you could be real strong in comp jet!
