That is nothing more than political grand standing. Why don't they do some actual work, and do something about the immigration problem!

Have faith in Murtha. He's got the Democrat plan to defund the entire war in Iraq without it looking like a defunding.
They plan to put an ammendment to the next Pentagon appropriations bill to require certain standards for equipment, training, and personnell levels to be met before units can be rotated to Iraq. These levels will be sufficient that virtually no units will be able to meet them. I've heard a tape recording of Murtha himself boasting of this cutting the Pentagon's throat.
The "We Don't LIke It" bill is nothing but political grand-standing, without a price.
Congress controlls every dime. If they want to stop the troop increase, just sign your name to the refusal to fund the damn increase! They don't have the guts to tho.
There is a thought out there tho that the "Embolden Our Enemies" bill will cause a huge split in the Dem party tho. It goes like this.
There are 3 anti-war camps in the Dem party,:
The Hillary--- complain but keep going.
The Obama-- Redeploy to Okinawa VERY soon, now is good too.
The Kennedy- Defund the war, period, stop it cold now and bring everyone home.
Once the gutless resolution is voted on, the next step is "Which follow on bill do you support", and the '08 election is coming up.
Will the really crazed anti-war lefties support anyone but the Kennedy? No
Will the Anti-war moderates support Hillary? No
Will the reasonable thinkers who rightly fear the result of giving up in Iraq support anyone who quits? No.
A 3-way hard split going into 2008? Perhaps. Does seem possible.
Wait-and-see time.

Even if they defund it now the courts have held that the President can move the funds (the ones already appropriated) wherever he would like, so no matter what the dems do they wont be able to stop the troop deployment. The most they can do is cut it a little shorter than the administration would like, and even that is unlikely. Its all political grandstanding. If anybody deserves to be spit on its the politicians (on both sides of the isle) IMHO.
