Well,
my oil pressure was coming and going. It's probably no big deal, but I will probably have to pull the motor and check the pump out. Just one more thing to the list to do! I'll be back next weekend providing I didn't do any damage. It's popping on the drivers side, but I think it's just the valve lash... When are you going to come on out James? I got those seats put in and they work great!

We camped out Saturday night, and it was awesome! HotRod, Squirtin my load, and 67Weimann woke us up nice and early followed by VinDog and BigErn later in the day. Good to see everyone, especially Rod who doesn't usually come out this way. Also thanks to Rod for the tow back in.. For the record, I would have made it on my own power, but I didn't want to cause any more damage. Hopefully it was a simple problem.

Thanks for the pics I can hardley wait to get on the water again. My wife and I have Monday and Tuesday off so we might have to call in to make out on a Sat or Sunday :eek: :eek: . It was windy as hell so the water was NASTY!
I slept until 10am today and fell back asleep at 11 until 5pm.. I didn't have time then to take the oil filter out etc. I'll let you know what I find tomorrow Michael.

I thought so, but I have switched the gauges and senders out with no success. Plus the motor is popping with some physical evidence that points to lack of oil pressure. I'll letcha know tomorrow though :)

SKOM I had that problem and found out the sending unit was the wrong one. I had bought a new one and the gage and the sending unit didnt match up. so the pressure would fluctuate.
Put the old one back on and all was good.

Yup it was me. We were doing some prop testing and just installed the GPS speedo too. That was the second prop we tried, and not nearly as fast as the 4 blade labbed Bravo. The Hydromotive (the one we had on there in the pic) doesn't have enough pitch. Took 5 props and only tried 2. The old speedo only goes to 120 mph, could peg that one fairly easy. Its for sale with the pickup, hose and head etc. Read about the props and speedo deal upcoming in ***boat Mag. TIMINATOR P.S. it runs on regular 87 octane gas too.

We were at Bartlett a few weeks ago and the water level was so low that the launch ramps were unusable and it was hard to launch anywhere. It looked more like a river.

Get a mechanical gauge and hook it up directly to the engine block. Harbor Freight might have one fairly cheap.
I wouldn't go tearing down the block until I knew for sure what's the oil pressure.

I'd agree with this one. I've found that you need to have the matched sender for the gauge.
It may be back up by now.. Does anyone know for sure?

No snow...........no water for Bartlett. Unlike Apache, Sagauro and Canyon where they can siphon water off of Roosevelt or Pleasant which is canal fed.
39% is not that bad though. I've launched from the beach when it was much lower than that. In addition it keeps the bigger boats off the lake unless they're permanent party (already on the water and harbored there).
I've boated up there when it was as low as 20%. A few years ago we had back to back snowless winters up north and Bartlett was way down all through the summer. On a good note there is an absolutely pristine all sand beach at the north end (just past the no wake zone) when the water level is low. Not the crushed granite that you find around most of the lake, but real nice sugar sand.

Yellow Cliffs -9
Ramp levels at Bartlett. The water is actually 4 feet down from the end of the ramp.
Oh yeah just another side note. Since Bartlett is fed via run off water, in the spring you'll find there is a lot of debris in the water. Many small floating pieces of wood etc. I've picked up things in my pump a number of times when boating earlier in the season.
