Looking for a set of motor plates for a 440 big block wedge. If not the plates themselves, some patterns would work. Thanks

What ya need? My motor is out right now and the plates are off right now.

Side plates are 3/4 thick alum that was chromed and attaches where the motor mounts go.

I have a bell housing and Aluminum flywheel for one. (flywheel has to match so the starter meshes correctly). How many bolts hold your flywheel on? 6 or 8?

I forgot to mention these are for a jet. Will this setup work for a jet? I don't see why not.

This is for a friend and he is going to check but he recalls six. As in the above post would it work on a jet? How do you know if the flywheel matches the bell housing so the starter meshes? Do you shim it somehow. I'm not familiar with Mopars.

Mopar starters are flywheel specific. Mine uses the tin can start which requires a 172 tooth flywheel. The later gear reductions use the 143 flywheels. I would stay away from the direct drive units like have. I'm always having starter issues. I don't see why you couldn't use the same cover in a jet unless it made the motor sit to high in the back.

I looked on the Rex Marine site and found the rear setup but did not see anything for the front. Where did you get yours an would it be possible for you to trace a pattern or maybe a closer pic. Thanks

There was a guy here that had a mopar in a jet, he machined the front of an auto trans and used the bell housing like a three point mount. If you used front and rear motor plates on a rail system all you would need is the pto. Just make the rear plate thick enough to mount the starter.

Norm Grimes / GSM Marine made a set of Hemi motor plates for me. He has a pattern for the rear that he will alter for your width and height. Canyon Marine has them also.

I machine my own line of parts to put Mopars in boats. Everything you need.
Water inlet/exit plates, 6/8 hole PTO's, front rear motorplates. Need pictures?
I use a Reactor Products flexplate which has a ring gear attached. Some people on HB don't like them though.

Thanks guys that gives me plenty of info. If someone has some used stuff let me know and this friend might take it off your hands. Thanks again for the info and keep it coming.:)

Used Mopar stuff may be hard to find considering there aren't/weren't that many out there to begin with.
You probably already know that with the exception of the PTO, the Hemi stuff will fit the same. Hemi cranks have an 8 bolt flange, all other B's and RB's have a 6 bolt flange. The newer stroker stuff usually has an 8 bolt flange.
Just trying to help a fellow Mopar bud.

If he is indeed a cheap bastard, you might as well tell him now to go to
K-Mart and buy himself a runofthemill Chevy.
If he can't stomach the $4-600 for parts to rig the 440 correctly, find a cheaper hobby.
Running a Mopar will not get any cheaper after he acquires the parts to PUT the motor in.

Trust me on this one.

I am so laughing at this.:D :D :D I call him a cheap bastard because he always complains about prices. I always tell him to find another hobby because he never wants to spend a dime. In reality this guy actually owns some Mopar muscle cars that are worth some money. He also wheels and deals on E-bay with use mopar parts. His big block mopar is already done with about 600hp. Cracks me up that you post this because he always asks me to find him something and when I do he says "THAT MUCH":jawdrop: I tell him to go dig up the coffee can and let's have some fun, it isn't getting any cheaper:D :D Cale
