Posting this for a friend ... it's a street legal Z-28, 1996? Set up for sportsman class NHRA.
Has buckets, Roll cage, RCI 5 point seat belts, remote battery, MT slicks on rear and skinny's up front, LT1 engine, Autometer Monster Tach, etc. etc. etc.
He wants $5,000 ... sounds like a good deal to me ... clean car needs a little work on the LF fender and driver door ... but a cool Saturday night ride for cheap.
It's located in the Modesto/Turlock area of Calif.
His name is Don Clark and his number is 209-602-9007

Just out of curiousity....what would you need a Monster tach for on an automatic tranny?
Free bump for ya too! :D

Are you serious? Auto or manual you still need a tach. You dont just leave it in drive, you still need a shift point.

because it looks cool come on ID...if it was mine i would put a glide in it with 5500 stall and brake and hit it with a couple of hundred hp of nitrous until it blows up which woudnt be long then i would build the motor.car was a work in progress for the guy and he hadnt really done anything performance wise for it yet.

Exactly ...
Don has really clean stuff. Was looking on building this car as a street leagal deal after his Super Comp dragster ... he started on it and then had a change of heart. Wants a Sand Rail ... he used to have one & all of his friends have Rhino's, etc ...
It's still for sale and he would consider a trade for a clean older 2 or 4 seater rail in the same price range ... he wanted the one mouzer/Big Proppa had ... but it sold already.
So here's a bump for Don ...

I take it that the power train is bone stock? If that is the case, it should probably run low 14's or high 13's.
Does the car come with a fuel cell? Also, has the car been looked at by NHRA and certified? I have been looking to possibly build a car and this might be a good starting project. I want a car that I can run sub 10's and run NHRA. Z-28's make a great car if they were built to pass tech.

Your correct the car ran in the 13's, according to my handy dandy Camaro hot rod book it states that this year and vin series had the highest HP of this gen LT1's. It has always passed the Sacramento raceway tech (Loni from NHRA) but has not been certified (didnt need to), The roll bar is a Comp Engineering and they state that this bar is NHRA aproved? I belive that this configuration is good to 10 seconds. you have to ad the front hoop kit from Comp Engineering to go sub 10's. (but you might look into that, Summit racing has the kits) No it does not have a fuel cell, still has stock tank, That was on my list I left room for it next to the battery box, I was going to pull it out when I put the new adjustable struts and shocks on (new in box), You are correct this will make a great platform to build from that was my plan. (work got in the way of my fun). I am really wanting to move this, and have been activly try to sell or trade (sand Rail), you can give me a call at
209-602-9007 Thanks, -Don (thanks Brian!!)
