Quick question Mike,
a 427 (looks like a big block in the pic) with 64 corvette heads would indicate small block heads on a big block engine. How is that possible?:D

i called the guy here is what he said its a built 396 block with heads off his 427 corvette and intake manifold.make cents:jawdrop:

he has the short block for sell for like 2 grand and when i picked the boat up he wanted the heads and intake back to make his 427 complete and put the 396 heads back on.we talked for about hour then he said just take it.and i better come back and buy the block:D

The first big block vettes came in 65 and they were 396's.
Pull a valve cover and give me the numbers, I'll decode it for ya.
And if you need any heads, I have a set of early 396 and 2 sets of square port 454 heads (and 2 extra tunnel rams)
