My trans does not have the converter, it has the Art Carr
adapter. How does this hook into the transmission?

The adaptor is just a converter without the insides, and it installs the same way!..

I have Dave Sammonds rigging & installing motor & trans and he can not figure out this adapter.
Is Art Carr still in business? If so are they in Caiforrnia?
Thanks,
Brent

Ok, you have a Spline Drive it uses a Dampener Plate and you have to use a clutch type flywheel!.. I like the Hughes one better it just takes the place of the converter!.. Go to page 18!..

Hey Brent, I had the cheaper of the 2 in my 24 XS. When I pulled the engine last week I noticed all the springs around the plate were broken off. If you are making more than 600hp I would go with the more expensive of the 2. Those spring don't sound good when they go flinging off at speed.
