I am in the process of building a 454 for my sleekcraft and am really considering a Chrysler 44o; I am more confident in a chrysler with their crank pin size and longer rod besides I am a chrysler guy. Well anyhow does anyone know where to find exhaust manifolds and bellhousings for a BB dodge? I may be selling all my 454 if I can locate some parts.

JD,
I make all the parts you need to put a 440 in your boat.
Front and rear motorplates, water inlet/exit plates, and PTO flange.
For exhaust I am using Hedman headers. I think Glenwood still sells logs for 440's.

In proper defense of the Chevy, there are a million more running in boats than 440's.
The 440 does run well though, it pulls pretty good RPMs and makes plenty of torque for a jet.

rewarder makes headers for 440s... in fact if you want they can make a thru transom set of headers for not much more then the cost of the ots.
I had them make me a custom set for my pontiac. they look sweet. can't wait for them to make some noise.

Well anyhow I just like the simple long rod tall deck chryslers for the super wide powerband. I will probably finish the 454 but I want to start collecting parts for the 440. Chryslers are really tough without buying a lot of high dollar stuff. I looked all over for a chevy powered sleek, found one and should have just stuck with my olds replacement chrysler idea. I am not knocking chevys but am used to chryslers, besides I am just not much of a follower.

Briani will check out your site. Most of the mount stuff I can make and Want to keep everything under the hoods, Logs or thru transome headers. Thanks for the info.

Who am I to talk about Chevy's anyway, I run Dodges, lots of them.
I can attest to good power for little money. I made 400HP with a well-used bottom end, 8.8-1, I did a "top fuel" hone and re-ringed it, with a single carb and SB Products bowl ported stock cylinder heads. Pretty good for part I had laying around the garage.
I love Dodges.

SteveYa I figured on running a rear sump truck pan Like I had in my Warlock way back when. I can run a stock flywheel for now and cut down a bellhousing. Need to find USED Logs. I have all the chevy and Olds stuff but I hope I can come up with everything by summer. What is a straight drive flywheel? I know what the 3.9 is. I will try to PM you this weekend. Thanks.
