I dont know about 130mph, but it looks like a pretty good deal, if the motor is what it is. It is driven off the flywheel though, that is a downside and should be switched around.

That's what I thought. Carburetors seem small for a 510, but then again we run 1050 Dominators on everything from our 468 to 522.

You can never be sure. You know Mitch is always looking to make that buck!! Seems to me, the Ks run about twice that gear to run a little faster than that, TWICE!! Maybe they're turbojet 23s??? Or maybe the guys full of shit.......I said maybe.........MP

Definitley a little bit of a downside, especially if you wanna race it, cam swap and just make the engine reverse rotation!!! no screwing with fabricating new motor mounts.:D

I would probably bet my life it hasn't seen 130 mph....might have seemed like it being a true flatbottom without the air runners. The 130-140 range requires aluminum heads with extensive work......the best I have ever seen was 128 with steel heads and that was a runner bottom. In order to go 130 with 22 gears you are in the 8000 rpm range..........................just a guess tho!

agree been there myself but ran 132 and 134 and as you know it wasnt no normal lake boat but a drag race only deal and it went to 9k plus the 006 boat went 134 also but that had .25s and it was near 8k rpm

What a shame, it probably is a decent little boat but they had to throw in the 130 MPH thing to screw it up. It would probably be a fun little lake or river runner without too much work. Still can't get past the 130+MPH thing.

I don't have my measuring stick out, but it sure looks like those strakes are illegal height for turning left. So my guess is that it was never set up to turn left.
I would love to see it make those numbers on a dyno now, and would love to see it try and hit 130. But for that price, it is a nice boat.
Like Paul said, he screwed it up with the 130mph thing.

Exactly! Wouldn't be a bad little toy at all for the lake/river, but it seems to me he screwed himself by adding the 130 mph sentence. Kind of a red flag, don't ya think?

If anyone is truly interested in owning those rare, (non existant), 23 gears with that boat wrapped around them, tell him you'll give him his price, but you want to go for a ride. Take a GPS, and for every mile an hour UNDER 130 you'll knock off $500. bucks.......That should get the price down considerably........But I'm betting he has an excuse for everything and would not even get it wet prior to purchase. And I agree, it could be a cool boat, but after the 130 statement his credibility took a real shit........MP

True dat Lookin for Liquid. You can run 130 with 18s but you have to buzz the thing through the roof!!!!!!!!!!
Just for sake of arguement about gearing or lack of...it is all about horsepower..plain and simple! The more power you have and are able to attain a higher rpm range at a safer level you can drop the gear and also grab the ET. We have run 143 with 22 gears and yes the motor was "running through the roof" at over 9000 rpm.

Getting a BBC to rev 8300 under power with 23s (22s or 25s), aint all that simple. I think that would be the issue with that boat/motor/gear combo. And Art, you may be a little kind with the 10% slip factor............Just a guess, MP

And if you get realistic, with 15% slip and a 24 gear, that makes it 8800 at 130.25.

Even with the correction the speed seems a bit off........But, as mentioned earlier, it could be a cool boat, even if it only goes 90, still a cool boat if it is in fact a turn key deal..............MP

How does one calculate prop slip?

How does one calculate prop slip?
By the seat of your pants......Or, IF you have the other numbers you can figure it out from there. IF you know the Rs, and you know the speed, and you know the prop pitch, it's in the math. Trying to do it backward is just a guess.........The slip factor is how wet or dry the boat runs, how much drag the prop has to overcome to hook to the water, up river, down river, with the wind, against the wind all play a small part. Fresh and salt water are different too..........Different boats with the same prop will be different, just as different props on the same boat will be different.......Ask Dave Rankin why he spent two days at Irvine testing props!!!!!........Then ask yourself why his boat is always up front..............MP

I am sure Guru will attest alot of the comp flats, ski flats, progas flats, depending on weather and water (phoenix) run no more than a 22 and as low as a 12 and still run 130 plus. The Looky lou boat(an old Hondo) picked up E.T as well as M.P.H a few years back at the drags something like an 8.18 @ 134 m.p.h going from a 22 to an 18. You simply cannott compare a K boat to a drag boat!! IMHO ;) :D

If this thing were a runner bottom with a PGF motor in it I would have kept my mouth shut, but being a circle style hull and a standard Chevy setup it is a hard pill to swallow. It really is a shame, had he left out that one line I bet it would sell for quite a bit more. It still could be a cool boat. I hope somebody that knows what to do with it ends up buying it.

Im the one who listed it, I listed it for a buddy up in Hesperia, he says he has Dyno sheets on the engine, It was said to have gone that MPH when it had an injection set-up on it, He also said it ran a high mph for what it was, I dont know alot about boats, Im a Ashpalt drag racer, but I can tell you this guy has some very fast shit! The boat is back on ebay, at a cheaper price, hes only selling because he could use the cash right now, his # is on the auction if anyone would like to give him a call and get the history, Im told the boat was fairly well known before it was painted... As for the posted MPH being a turn off, thats probably my fault, I asked him how fast it had gone, and he said the timeslips he saw on it showed 130+... Thats all I have to go on...

Nice boat! It looks to me like a "cut down" Barron sprint like the PC-8 that Tommy Barron ran and Danny loveless's 130 mph PS boat. I think this hull could go 130+ with enough power and gear.
Freshen up that trailer and exploit how rare it is with its performance potential and I believe it would bring 10K+ (If its solid).
