WHat kind of kill switches are you guys running and why? I have the type that is brass and allows you to disconnect ignition power. Its simple and sweet but would like to see others.....

Mercury makes the a very good killswitch.

LOL You guys are "killin'" me!
I'll be running a Hardin Marine one. It's the kind where a cap goes over a momentary normally open pushbutton switch...the switch is closed with the cap on.
The switch is wired in series with the wire running from the "ignition" terminal of the key switch. A lanyard is attached to the cap, which gets attached to you. If the cap gets pulled off by you being thrown from the boat, the switch opens and interrupts the ignition power.

What busby said, that's what I have mounted to a piece of angle aluminum under the dash. definitely keep a spare cap around.
I just wired it in series to the ignition power to my msd box.

The Mercury kill switch is the best. They do not pop off on their own and will release no matter which direction the lanyard is pulled from. They are by far the most commonly used killswitch for a reason.

Here's the best:
Virtual Lifeline (http://www.maritechsafety.com/vlunit.asp)
We'll be outfitting our new patrol boats with them.
Runs $500-$550.
But what's a life worth?

That looks pretty trick but there is one thing I see that could be a problem. In smaller jets and v-drives that when they hit wakes and you get a big splash that lands in your lap the motor will cut off.I know sometimes at slower speeds I can get a gallon of water in my lap and would be restarting my boat quite often. But that is a great way to protect passengers instead of just the driver.Mabey they will come up with a beter system like a proximity sensor or something.I just think in a sport where theres alot of water splashing around it could be problem. Not to mention every time some passenger dumps a beer in their lap.

I dunno much ... but I mount mine with a lanyard that will unplug my plug if I stand up ... usually right in front of my seat. I only use the mercury style. I shouldn't be standing if I'm driving.
The VP dealio looks cool though, better for bigger boats where standing and/or moving around might become an issue.
In the small jets ... no one should be standing while in motion anyway ... IMO
