I went to see some friends over the weekend back in the old hometown. One of my buddies collects cars.......
None of the Fords in these photos have over 25,000 miles on them. None of them has been "restored", they are all original.
One Cobra is a 427 MR, the other is a 289. The GT350s have 289's, both GT500s have 428's. The little white sports car in the back is a Sunbeam Tiger with a 289, 7,100 miles and one of 536 made.
Nice stuff.....;)

HOLLY... that is awesome..
I have to say though, if those are all original cars, that garage is definitely worth over a million. Heck good 427s are going for 300-650k right now.

At 25,000 miles or less, unrestored, and and and, the sad thing is it sounds like none of those cars are even driven.
These cars' popularity was their very own demise.

Retarded? How so sir?
Cars were built to be driven, not to be a showpeice and certainly none of those cars were built to be a showpeice, IMHO.
A story I have told here before...
A former girlfriend's father has a OG original unrestored early model vette, the earliest years with the Rochester fuel inj. He is the second owner(Jan or Dean from Jan and Dean being the first) bought it when it was a few years old. Anyway, this car had been featured in many mags, calendars and literature as THE car to judge all other "original" vettes from. The car was perfect, I mean perfect down to the fasteners to hold the car together. I don't remember the miles, but they were low thousands.
When I first saw the car it hadn't seen the light of day in a couple years, under a cover, hadn't even been outside of it's climate controlled garage. Sad, very sad to see this cool car be worth SO much, that it wasn't worth the risk to take it out on the road. The poor thing gets started once a month and sits on jackstands it's whole life.
Cool cars nonetheless, million dollar garage for sure, but I am glad I don't have to make that choice yet.

now thats just pathic... I would much rather have a "clone" or a restored car that I can driver anywhere I want then one that does nothing but sit...

That was my whole point. Man look at the guys garage, sweet cars, two Cobras, a Tiger...NSX.
Talk about some fun.
Just tell me your buddy drives the cars ONCE in awhile. Maybe unhooks the odometer or something. Restore my faith in true gearheads.

He spins 'em around the block once in a while. It would be a shame not to.
The green GT500 would make yer teeth hurt if you saw it up close......still has the original tires, paper labels on the radiator hoses, the fasteners on the engine have never been touched, can't tell it's ever been sat in, much less driven. Has 22,700 on the clock.

I'd drive them....all of them. I wouldn't worry about the value because I die of old age before I sold any one of them. And do you think the value of any of them is going to drop if they each have 25K on the clock or 30K? We're not talking about daily drivers here, these only get rolled out on warm sunny days for a little jaunt around the estate, afterall you need to keep the fluids circulated.
