And for the record, we got the boat to do a 108 mph in Lake Lloyd. The boat accelarated like crazy.. the mid range was unbelievable...
To give you an idea the size of Lake Llyod, It is about 3 football fields long by one football field wide. It is very tight. Driving a Cat in that kind of condition is a thrill and a rush. I put 5 blades on and the boat barely bangs the revs... you have to back off the throttle little over half way, to slow down for the turn. I put a pair of 26 pitch lab bravos and hit the revs at half lake but by that time the boat was already hitting a 100 mph.
Darrell Waltrip reaction was really cool. He did take the boat out in Lake Llyod at the Daytona Speedway... in fact he took the boat out several times. He drove it three times for pleasure and two time for TV. Everytime he got behind the wheel he was impressed and thrilled with the ride.

Very cool, I was watching one of the Speed shows, and they were sitting on a little "beach" on lake Lloyd, and I kept watching the boat in the background, but what I thought was really cool was when you could hear it excelerate through their mikes, SWEET!

Incredible boat and speeds. But I think that lake is almost as long as the back stretch at 3800 feet. I would imagine it felt really small at those speeds.
