K, this guy here in town has one with virtually no hours on it. Guess they put some money in it powder coating crap and what not then only rode it a few times and has been sitting most its life.
1994 701 Superjet. Whats it worth. The price he stated seems pretty good considering but then you can buy a brand new one for 6k or so of the Kawi. I know all that powdercoat crap doesnt affect price at all, but if it is a sub 20hr ski.

I don't know, but the Superjet is more fun than any Kawi out there. I sure hell miss my 98 SJ.

Just for play, that's a strong ski.
It's the older hull, so it's not as competitive as the later years. The engine is the same though. Stock had a single carb that was just fine for playing but not fast on the top end. It's MUCH lighter than any Kawi you could compare it to.
For the surf or the river it would be fun.
It'll be slow compared to a new Kawi though.
Under 2500 and your not doing bad if it's in good shape.
Add a ride plate and a stainless impeller and your good to go.

It must have been a while since you rode a Kawi.

The SXR is nice, but the SJ is a better freestyle ski. If speed ='s fun, then the SXR would be better.

is the motor stock? if so 2k if not i would say $1,800.
if its been sitting most of its life, you should go through with a fine tooth comb for cracked hoses....i learned the hard way
I have a 650sx kawi with a bunch of mods and custom paint. i love it. soo much fun. maybe someday ill step up to a superjet.

They are asking 2k for it. He says he will let it rot for that price but they always say that. LOL
I guess Ill go look at it and see if its what he says it is. Prob some falling apart POS that thinks he has gold. heh

Sounds like that is what's been happening for the past 13 years.
$2K seems ok based on boat trader but I would be adding up all the rubber componets, seals (including main bearing), carb overhaul and labor that is going to have to bring it around. Sometimes those things dont show themselves until you put 5 hours on it after it has been sitting. Another $2K will get you in the 200_ year ski I would think.

ya, that was my worry with it sitting so long. Personally Id feel better if the thing had been used some the last few yrs but this doesnt sound like its the case.
Kinda like my 64 Cont I bought, sat in a barn for yrs and yrs. For the most part its a great car, but all the rubber is gone.
