I know of 2. One has been for sale and the other he won't part with. Post the phone# or pm it to me. If its the same guy I'm thinking of he owned the other one I'm talking about and a jet daycruiser

Aqua-Craft made two hulls, a 17' and 18' footers. Skip Volk also laid up the Wickens hull that Fred Wickens had designed. The 17' hull was the best turning flat of it's time. In the early days of SS class there was a guy named Bill Boaz out of the San Jose area that had a 289 Ford and buzzed it about 8000 RPM and kicked some serious ass. There were single bouy turns and he would pin the nose on that bouy and he was gone. They outlawed his Weber carbs and put him on a single four and he still took the boys to school. Ah the good old days. If someone knew of a 17' footer for sale I would be a buyer.

Oh boy, Please go to: Pictures of Moses Lake and the first yellow and red boat to appear is a Wickens Aquacraft. The deck resembles a woodie since it was pulled off of a wooden plug built by Fred Wickens. I have a regular 18 foot Aqua-craft that I plan on racing next year. You cant go wrong with a smooth riding Aqua even though the name sounds Hoakie. Just make sure it hasnt sat in the sun too long and developed too many cracks in the glass, better yet, take a v-drive friend along to asess the boats value. I bought mine complete for 2500 and have been happy ever since. Mr. Minegar, have you been avoiding me? Send me an email and I have pictures to send! That's one JeRks opinion!!! smile_sp

they splashed the Aqua-Craft changed the deck
and made the Beismayer.

Yes, that is an Aquacraft and one of the finest riding boats I have ever been in! Ok I found it. Here is the forum thread you should go to for proof of the above statement from Mikehan: Best boat pics..Lets' See Them.... Scroll down to a post by Kurtis500 and there you will hear the story of a flat bottomed family with many boats including a wood decker Aqua that turned into a B boat. Then notice Billy B's comments after talking to the legendary Julian P.! I have later learned that Rusty B himself was involved with Julian in the attempt to beat the Hallett Barrons of the time and the Aquacrafts. Later the four lapstrakes were removed in favor of two and moved slightly to help corner entry. Also Alex Lavey entered the competition and made his mark with devoted hull bottom developements tailor made to the owners needs. One such individual was asked to bring his boat west for the addition of multiple chines and lapstrakes that were to aide in hard cornering {much like b boats}. He continued to succeed race after race! They even were experimenting with the Hemi but it would NOT rev high enough to make the Lavey bottom work! There is NO boat that can fly like the Lavey, just ask: The Faulkners, Ken Dorn, Robert Clune, George N.,Mario S.,Mikehan, Mr. Grossman, Jack Kiley, Paul Grichar, Truitt Beal, and me: The JeRk!or the Blonde Bomber! There is NO substitute! Get your Lavey while you can, the molds are NO more! Or, for that matter a wonderful Aquacraft like the one I am restoring right next to the fastest Nostalgic circle LAVEYS {including SS39} smile_sp :D Video Guy, stick that in your pipe and....... CJ, I love your enthusiasm!!!!!!!!! O.K. I have a question for you (while I load my pipe). :) Why do the Faulkners, Clune, Nordling, & Truitt all run the "B" boats???? Last time I taped Grich he was also in a "B" boat. Boy this pipe tastes terrible. :D Like you said; NO SUBSTITUTE!!LOL
As your aware... Go fast racer sold his lavey and now runs a B. Your best friend sold his and now searches for a B! Puff Puff Puff!! :D
The reference to Flying a Lavey is an old one. But in this case flying and winning are too different things!!

Its very simple jerr....No one builds new Laveys or Aquacrafts anymore....the molds were distroyed. And furthermore, There are very few Lavey drivers healthy enough or alive enough to put into the boats that arent made anymore!!!Fortunately, there are a few exceptions to this, SS39, and PC871,so far.'B' boats are merely a futile attempt to replace the KING of boats ever since Alex Lavey quit making 18 foot racers. Simple?? As for the individual racers you mentioned, you know the reason. As for George, he would drive one if he could find one he likes, in fact he has asked to drive ours! Get ready to install pipe! Truitt doesnt drive or race anymore. And the Faulkners WILL NOT sell theirs, and may not want to race it without a driver. Mr. Clune is retired and his last boat was what? Yes a Lavey! SS39! Done Deal smile_sp

Truitt hasn't raced for years but has recently campaigned a "B" boat. Clunes last boat wasn't a serious race effort, I saw it in a race once with a ski motor and Lance drove it to a strong last place (this was a just for fun type thing). Clunes last race boat was the ss-76 zip. Faulkners won't sell thiers because its Bills old racer, I wouldn't sell it either but you don't see them racing it do you? What about Art and Jimmy D? Did you forget them?
If the Lavey was all that... it would have been splashed and everyone would run them!!! CJ, your stuck in 1974. Your right Laveys are a done deal!! Love your pipe smoking friend JG smile_sp

Is running a 'b' boat real Nostalgia? I dont think so! Lavey has a very different look as well as the fastest circle bottom (see your own tape of Mr. Jennings interview)! Any arguement? Besides it only seats two. That's why they dont sell well. Now that I've got up close a personal with them, I am abandoning my Lavey racing career for now and moving to the AquaCraft cause Blondie says I should! Finaly, George Nordling now has TWO! Go figure........101% jErK in your FACE Mr Hondo or is it Honcho, or Hondocho!? Traitor! :D Back to the shop and the H2Oracer..........

I hope I don't get beat up with this. I just picked up a 1968 18ft AquaCraft jet that's a v-bottom. Does anybody know any history about AquaCraft making jets? I was told by the previous owner that they only made a handfull of them.

 Cline Extreme Watercraft would be happy to make a mold off this rare boat. Assuming someone would supply the best known boat to duplicate for the sole purpose of making this unavailable(yet desired) hull available once again. BUT, before starting a project like this we would have to check the marketability and potential sales to justify such an investment. In return for the use of your supplied boat and providing marketability and sales are plausable we will provide a brand new, built to your specs., hull. This is a serious offer that could be started as early as this fall. Feel free to contact us to discuss details. Mike and Kristina Cline.
