I am lookin for some tires for my 2500HD. I think most run 285-75's. do they rub? I do not have a lift. What weight rating are they?
Who has a hook up on them as well?

I use 285/75/16 on the stock aluminum rims on my 1500 and they rub a little bit.

I'm running 285's in a BFG Mud. I had to change out my torsion keys as I was getting rubbage turning into driveways, but then again, I'm running on a 16" x 10" wheel where most people put them on 8" wide wheels and have no problems. I just like to be different. :D

I am very cautious about weight. I do not want to go to a 285 because I am not gonna get rims this time around. 285 on the stock tires are not a good idea for weight.
I am looking at a 265.
Anyone have pics of a truck on 265's?
I am looking for an aggressive tread. Its for the sand in Glamis.

I've been seriously contemplating new wheels and such on my new truck too. I know I'm gonna kick myself for doing so later though.

If your going to run BFG's, I'd go with the 265's especially if you tow some pretty heavy loads. I wanted 285's, but in that size they only come in a load range D where the 265's had both a D and E.

Dan,
On my 1500 4x4... I run 285 75 16's with no rubbing..
I have had the BFG's and did not like them compared to the Yokohama
Geolander AT II's.. Take a look at them...
Max load per tire is 3305 lbs.. Same as the BFG's

Those are Discount's Pathfinder (I think) in a 265 on stock wheels. Looks much better than it did with the little crappy 245's. ;)

Dan, I am running the 285 BFG A/Ts. I have over 60,000 miles on them. No complaints here. No rubbing, but I did have to crank up the front torsion bars. I believe it was 8 turns.

We were running 285's on our 2500 HD with a little trimming and the torsions cranked up. I just installed a 6" Fabtech lift and went to 35's and it is much better. The ride is almost like stock. I did not do the lift initially because the factory warranty would not cover any tranny problems on an Allison with an after market lift. We are now into the extended warranty which I can do myself.
I would highly reccomend a quality after market lift over raising the torsions just for the ride quality. I also went with a Hypertech tuner and it is more drivable IMO because of the Torque increase off the bottom end.
