I am trying to come up with an idea to add some more gauges to my boat. Cutting more holes in the dash is not an option so here's what I was thinking.

Just built this to accomodate three gauges. I really only need one right now but may be adding more later. I was thinking of just "tabbing" this on to the dash in the center under the tach or maybe building a "pod" out of it to sit on the floor...
Suggestions??

yeah, his are on the diverter control... I know, just buy a diverter and mount them to there...but then again, I got to be different :D
and yeah, I ain't no carpenter...wait till you see the 'glass that will enclose the wood to keep it dry and protect the gauges...

or I just built this tonight. Thought about setting it on the floor where it is visible and out of the way. It's only a rough frame and needs 'glassed to be a "pod" but you get the idea...

If you're gonna do that pod, move the doweling out at a wider angle to leave more room in the middle of the base plate to cut out the center and have room to get your hands in there. Once you glass it up, you'll still need access (via the back) to get to the gauges. Then you probably know the rest of the drill. Wrap it in pantyhose or whatever, and start glassing.
Personally, I think its a much better alternative than pods on the dash, and if you do a good job with the gel coat/fiberglass, it will come out nice.
Good luck with it.

I'm not sure if this is an option, but Livorsi makes a 4 in 1 gauge. It has water temp/oil pressure/volts/fuel level requires a 3 3/8 hole same as a tach. Frees up some dash space for oil temp/hourmeter/etc.

Boat is running alright. Carb is a little lean so I need to go up a size or two in jetting but other than that it's good....

I plan on cutting the back section to give access to the inside. I figured when I cut it, the dowels would be in the section that is cut out. This way, I figure the dowels wouldn't interfere with anything.
Here's what I got done tonight. I'm taking my time because I'm not really sure of how I want it to look like when I'm done...

Cut the bottom out, put some bi-axial cloth glass on the inside, and put a coat of resin on the outside to give me something to sand. This is as far as I'm gonna take it untill I see if it will fit my liking...:D
