I just bought a 26 foot bowrider 5 months ago. It came with 4 factory speakers CD player and Sirius Radio. When the boat is running it very hard to hear the radio so I would like to replace the system. Any suggestions on what brand I should go with? How many speakers and amps you think is needed?
I don't really have a budget. I was thinking about 1000-1500 for new system? I do want to hear a little bass But over all very clear sound and loud.

I just replaced my stock speakers with some memphis audio marine 6.5's. Also added a memphis amp and 2 subs. There are tons of options out there. Lots of people on here have alot of good info i am sure they will chime in here!

FIrst thing you need to do is state a budget and what kind of quality you are looking for. There are so many options available that with the info you posted it would be near impoosible to give advice.

imo
Best bang for the buck speakers out there.
If your head unit is good then you should be able to get the rest around the
budget your talking.
Ipod?
Sirius?
Remotes?
Could add up quick.

In that price I have had VERY good luck using
Eclipse speakers, a decent quality 5or6 channel amp, and a single 10"JL in a box. You will get good sound quality. great time out of your batteries. and have money left over for beer and gas.

The Memphis speakers would be the best bang for the buck. The metal dome tweeter makes for an excellent open environment speaker. They are also very efficient which means you do not need a big amp to run them.

I just got my stereo finished yesterday. The memphis speakers sound awesome. Very happy with those.
