NEW YORK (March 6, 2007) -- "American Idol" producers dumped Frenchie Davis back in season two, despite being an odds on favorite to win, after her online porn past came to light.
On Tuesday, Frenchie had plenty to say to Access Hollywood's Tim Vincent about this year's scandal-clad contestant Antonella Barba sticking around.
"I'm giving 'Idol' the benefit of the doubt but I think I deserve an explanation other than 'You were paid and she wasn't' because that may be acceptable for some people, but it's an unacceptable explanation for me," a fired up Frenchie told Tim.
Davis wants answers to why she was booted from "Idol" for posing topless for an adult Web site while Antonella has kept her place on the show, even though racy photos of her have shown up all over the Internet.
"The photos that were taken that have been in the press were stolen from a private collection and they weren't something that she was paid for in a professional sense," Tim noted. "They were never to be seen by the public."
"I understand that, but they were seen by the public, whereas mine were not necessarily. There were people to this day that say they haven't seen my pictures," Frenchie contends.
She said her ultimate goal is to have a sit down with the "Idol" producers.
"If the rules have changed, then what are we going to do to make up for the fact that I was humiliated needlessly?" Frenchie asked.
This morning, Frenchie's manager, as well as civil rights activist Najee Ali, held a press conference charging that racism could be a factor here.
"What do you think about people commenting it's a racist thing? Even Rosie commented on 'The View' about it being racist," Tim said.
"It's arguable. So I can certainly understand why people would jump to that conclusion and I'm giving 'Idol' the benefit of the doubt and not jumping to that conclusion," Davis added

If she won Idol, that would be great advertising for her porn site.

Rosie O'Donnell: FOX Is Mad At Me
"View" Host Says She Upset Network With Comments On "American Idol" Flap
(CBS) NEW YORK It looks as though FOX may be miffed at Rosie O'Donnell for calling their treatment of booted "American Idol" contestant "racist."
"We're no longer given access to 'American Idol' (video) clips. They're apparently mad at us ... When I say 'us,' I really mean me," O'Donnell said on Wednesday's broadcast, calling the situation "sad."
"It started with the two special-ed boys and then my concern about Paula (Abdul's) possible non-attentiveness and then saying that I thought it was sexist or racist and weight-ist that they put Frenchie (Davis) off and not Antonella (Barba)," O'Donnell said.
Her co-host, Barbara Walters, responded on the show by saying that O'Donnell's comments were "very strong accusations" and that "Rosie's opinions are Rosie's opinions."
But Walters instructed, "don't insult them with your left hand and ask for favors with the right hand."
A request for comment from the network about O'Donnell's comments was not returned on Wednesday.
Controversy erupted this week when photos of "American Idol" beauty Antonella Barba surfaced last week and show hosts Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell leapt to her defense.
Frenchie Davis, a powerhouse singer who was booted from the competition in 2003 when provocative photos of her surfaced, cried foul this week when she saw how Barba's situation was handled.
"I couldn't help but notice the difference between the manner in which she was dealt with and how I was dealt with … if the rules have changed, I believe there should be something to make up for the fact that I was humiliated needlessly," Davis told the New York Post.
"I don't necessarily think that (it's racism), but I can certainly look at this and understand why people would draw that conclusion," Davis told The Associated Press, hours before going on stage in the Broadway musical "Rent."
Though she has a successful career in theater, Davis is still curious about why Barba — who has been criticized as a singer — has remained on the hit show.
In a statement given to The ShowBuzz on Tuesday the network said they have never discussed the specifics of why Davis was eliminated and they don't plan to now.
"Fox and the producers of 'American Idol' have no desire to revisit history and sully the reputation of Ms. Davis," the statement said. "She was removed from the show over 4 years ago and has gone on to a successful performing career. We have never discussed the specifics of why Ms. Davis was eliminated, nor will we now."
Davis' supporters took part in a small protest Tuesday outside the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles where "American Idol" is filmed. Barba is scheduled to sing during tonight's "American Idol" broadcast.

Completely different and it has nothing to do with race/color.
One was for a Porn website
One was pictures taken by an Ex and published on the internet
I freaking hate Rosie Odonnell and her need to create controversy so people will pay attention to her. Honestly I can't stand Barbra Walters anymore since she got caught up in the daily talk show garbage.:(

i'm thinkin rosie is being encouraged to say outrageous sh*t to increase ratings. because everyday people are wondering "gee, i wonder what rosie is going to say today?" so they turn on the show to hear what she is going to say.

I think you are right. The producers were tired of fat and ugly people winning. I don't care how America voted. No one wants to see ugly people on TV, or on the water..........

Might be some truth to that although she has always been on the outrageous side.
