It was mentioned in my intro thread you might be able to help me identify the model of my Tahiti. :) I have been led to beleave it is a Tahiti Tiger, but am not 100% positive.

you've got a Tahiti Tiger that looks like someone added side tanks to.
Here's a pic of my first boat, a 1975 Tahiti Tiger, 455 Olds

have you measured the hull from bow to transom?

no I haven't, The ID plate on it says 19' though. So does my registration. As for the saddle tanks, they're factory (I think), Those buggers were glassed in real good, and the tank switching valve is actually mounted in the center deck runner. It originally had three fuel gages. Now it has water preasure, and a dual reading head temp gauge in those holes.

it's possible that those tanks were a special order or maybe an option...don't know about that. My ole Tiger also had 19' on the registration but it only measured 17'10" from the nose to the transom. Add in the pump and it was near 19'.
I think I still have pics of the different models around here someplace. I'll take a look to see if I do. It's been awhile and it may be before this computer.
In the mean time, here's a pic of an 18' Bubble Tiger

Cas has you covered so there really not much for me to say except back in the day, builders would use the gunale length of the boat for it's advertised length. Measure the boat from the transom, along the seam where the molding is, to the bow. This will give you a longer measurement than just the tape down the center of the boat, that's how they were advertised, rounded off to the next foot.
No telling about the side tanks, my guess is they were added later and I say that because if they were done when the boat was built, they'd have the same gas fills as the bow tank (if they would physicaly fit in that spot). Could very well be from the factory though, even though it was a production shop, we'd do whatever the customer wanted. :)
Oh, by the way, the boat Cas posted above, the super tiger bubble and the other boats like wickedfab and tahitijet posted, are completly different boats, they are based on the 18 Southwind, some a direct splash, others like the bubble...a splash with a different deck.
I only remember one model having it's name on the side of the hull and that was the Tahiti Tarino which had both names cast in one emblem, and I wish I had one of them, the emblem not the boat. All other Tahiti's as I remember, just had the tahiti emblem.

Thanks for the help :D I wish I had better hull pictures with the seats out.
But yeah the bow tank has one of those flush type screw in chrome fillers, while the saddle tanks have spring loaded latch type caps.
I am thinking when I repaint the boat, or gel it, I am going to glass over the saddle tank fillers. The boat goes all day on the 20 gallon bow tank. Other thing is some one put a bow, and stern light on it. I want to glass these over as well. When I bought it under the seats were suction cup flashlights with the bow and stern colors LOL.
Here is a pic of one of the tanks if you can make it out. They're long, fit real nice and hold about 15-17 gallons. All the gauges in the dash were SWs. After I get some new color on it, I will put new matching SW gauges in it. :D

Do yourself a favor, keep the saddle tanks and remove the bow tank. You don't want a load of fuel in the bow if you can avoid it. It'll slow you down.

I threw together a Brochure page on FC (http://www.freeboardchallenged.com/brochure.htm)from the old Roostwear files. It isn't pretty, but at least it's out there.

My thoughts exactly. Having a full tank will keep the bow in the water and the boat will ride much wetter than if the saddle tanks were being used.
