Driving down the road near my home last Sunday I came across this.....early 90's Fountain w/525SC's and Bravo's piggie backing a brand new '06 lifted Chevy Duramax Crewcab. The driver was cut off by a car (who left the scene ) and was forced to slam his brakes on. The Myco trailer had a low style front roller/stop that had a link chain holding the boat down from the bow...No tie down at the transom.
After two hours a local tow company lifted the boat back onto the trailer. The best part....The owner promptly drives the boat to the Ventura launch ramp and runs it for the rest of the day!!
Remember, always use tow straps!!

Looks like he has definately exceeded the recommended tongue weight. :p
Also always use your tow chains. Just had a guy take out my mailbox in havasu when his trailer left the hitch and it crossed two lane an took it out. Neighbor told me the chains were wrapped around the trailer and not connected to the vehicle.

Funny we had this converstation today during the performance boat class that Tres Martin teaches and his take is that we all need to use 2 bow straps as well as the transom straps

I am thinking maybe on Harbor over by Spinnaker. I have always thought of that happening when I dont tie the transom down. What if the bow eye broke?? I think mine would just punch a hole in the tailgate.... :skull:

Isn't the boat supposed to be resting on the tailgate?
You've linked to the pics. Once you've done that copy the URL of the pic and then put it inside the "frames" like this picURL that way you'll see your pics in your post.

I think you are right....that looks like the hotel in the background. I'd hire someone to kick my ass if that happened to me while towing without straps :crossx:
At some point though you have to wonder if the boat weighs enough to just barrel through despite strap ons? :p

What is rule #2? Pull the boat, not push the truck? :)

I have a big Christmas Party at the Four Points every year, I knew that view looked familiar.

Yes, that was right in front of the 4 points shariton on Harbor.
The guy went directly to the Ventura Launch ramp and put the boat in the water right after this!!

Good to hear noone was hurt. And the boat ran after that. That guy who ran should be found and used for shark bait though.

Sucks but the guy/gal who caused the driver to lock em up probably never even realized what happened  :yuk:
