Tnks....I did some searchin' here (and elsewhere) and lots of "info" on them. I found their Oregon website as well. Looks like I can mod-up if need be. Not gonna be a racer, just a 2nd boat for river scootin'...:D

Will be a good dependable pump. My buddy had panther factory blueprint his pump to "race" specs. runs great to 80mph. Cost him $2500 plus shipping about 5yrs ago. BL

The first boat I bought had one in it. Like whats already been said, it worked everytime. But trust me, you will want a berkley or one like it after the first season. Do yourself a favor and just find a different boat.
P.S. This is just my .02

Hey Mr Pink Hat:D
If its never been worked on the only real thing that wears out is the suction housing. I ran mine for almost 20 years but when I had it Rebuilt and Blueprinted the suction housing was almost see thru. Panthers have great holeshots just not alot of adjustments and add on goodies available.

Panthers work good and have a good holeshot because of nozzle size but thats about it.If you want performance stick to Berk, AT, aggressor or Dominator:idea:

If you'd like to call me, I'll give you the more 411 on the Protos. We're still waiting some other results however prior to "actual press release". The first three actual production units are being installed at this post, one in a 20' open bow, 700 hp N/A.
All initial tests on the early first three protos showed significant WOT rpm drops, mid 5k down to 4600 (by comparison), no perceptible high speed cavitation, modest top speed gains. Very good overall performance. Probably some of the nicest features of the kits will be the pricing $, 17-4 heavy duty shaft , beefy split bowl, the ability to use all AT 8 bolt bolt ons (wedges, droops, functional trim, rudders, etc.), huge Impeller cut and material selection aluminum ,stainless, (aa,a,b,c), simple field service and easy install, comprehensive tech help and very thorough instructions, with very limited hull mods (relocate steering and forward reverse), no bottom or trans cutting, no fiberglass work.
We don't believe however, that the black plastic shroud can be reused :D More to follow Thanks everyone! Tom

JRORK do you have a Panther Energizer on order?
The yellow Tahiti (the one in Tom's photo) had some pretty good gains 10 MPH considering it did not have very much HP. We have a couple about to hit the water with over 500 HP. It will be interesting to see if we can get enough water to the jet.

Yep, :D . More than anything I wanna drop my rpms. With the stock Panther I was in the 66 range on the gps but the rpms were up against my rev limiter of 5900..... Just a matter of time before something bad happened.
