I found an 18 foot 1978 Southwind Mini Cruiser for sale with a 460 and berkely jet. Everything looks pretty good and it runs great. The guy is willing to let it go for a good price.
Can someone give me some info on Southwind hulls. Anything special to look for? Any help is appreciated.

Southwind's are good solid hulls. Nuckingfuts is the guru here with regards to Southwinds and has two. He can give you all the info you need. Send him a PM.

its the same hull as the spectra. they are nice sollid boats i seen the one your looking at and if i didnt have all my $$$ in my new mill i would pick it up..not real fast boat but they handle the chop well for an 18.as far as what to look for id say all the same crap as any other boat you never know how hard it was hammered...

awww, wheres the love Jordan?
Nice hull and pretty roomy for the size. Bud light had one and ran his blower motor in it a few times. That was always my favorite hull. We called it a duck nose cruiser back then. That was spectras mold that southwind got. PM spectrabrent for more details. He knows the spectras really well.
Oh, and im only an asshole if you piss me off !!!!!

I think they are a great all around boat. And futz is right[shock], It hauled ass with my 468 blower motor in it. Budlight

It should be a pretty good little family boat. Probably good for a little over 60 without building a go fast motor. Mine is a Spectra so I'm not sure how heavy the SW's were laid up. Mine has seen 55 with a mild 455 and Jacuzzi pump.
