Travis - what are you moving to on the 502 in your 22'? Thinking about going with a tunnel ram/dual carb setup? I'm sending my carbs in this next week to the Carb shop to have rebuild. If they come back to me with a 'start over' option, I'll drop you a line if you still have them.
Good luck.

Wrench- I just swapped the vaccum secondary the 502 comes with for a 4150 style mechanical double pumper. This carb has only ran a few times and is siiting on my workbench awaiting a new owner.

Pics of these parts are coming? One of my buds on here is going to put them up. The prop is in good shape and would work well for a smaller cruiser with tall gears. the carb is ideal for Big Block automotive use and the header braces would look cool on a BBF jet boat engine.

Lilrick- i was really looking for cash but what do you have to trade?

lilrick

I may have a prop or two you can try .

Schiada Time
03-14-2007, 10:47 AM
Lilrick- what do you have? I have a 12x15, a 12x16 and a 11.5X15. If you have something in between 11.5 &12 I guess one more prop for test day can't hurt. I would be willing to trade my Menkens 10-7/8x15 for a clean prop in that range. I have a 1-inch shaft and my set-up is driven off the back so left hand rotation.

Will they work with Hooker BBF headers pictured here?

DominatorScott- Those look exactly like Bassett long collectors so I do not see why they would not work. Shoot me an e-mail tonight at travis.noack@sbcglobal.net and let me know if you want them. Nice Sanger Super Jet!

Sending you an email. Thanks for the compliment. I restored the boat for my father last fall and presented it to him for Christmas as my gift to him. He had no clue what I had done and thought I was just gonna store it for him for the winter.
Here is a couple before pics.

I like those braces. Do they just bolt to the bell housing and the collars are secured by 4"stainless hose clamps I presume?

Dominator Scott
03-14-2007, 02:00 PM
What is the inner diameter of those collars? maybe it just the pic but it looks
like they only about 3" when closed. Or aren't the endes supposed to touch when clamped down?

Schiada Time

i believe that is how they were mounted. Been so long since I looked at the back of a BBF. They are ready for you if you want them.

Ends touch when clamped down. They were on my old hallet jet boat motor when I bought the boat approx. 5 years ago now. They are freshly re-chromed and looking good. Where are you located Dominatorscott?

Orange County, CA. I know you will have to incuur some shipping costs so I am open to a reasonable offer. They are not producing any money sitting in my garage.

They certainly look nice but seem rather short. Maybe just my imagination considering I am new to the open engine jet boats. If you could measure the length tonight that would be great. (mounting hole to collar base)
I am going to measure from the mounting point on the bell housing to the bottom of the header.
Don't mean to be a pain.
Feel free to give me a call.

16-inches on that measurement. Let me know what you want to do.

Does anyone have these monted on their BBF? I measured from collector of the header to the 2 possible mounting points on the bellhousing and got measurements of 17.5" and 19.5". SchiadaTime is saying 16". I noticed these braces have a 45 degree bend at the mounting tabs and compensated for that. Any ideas?
Could my Hooker headers be bent differently than Bassetts making them taller and my measurements being 1.5" taller than the braces?:jawdrop:

Schiada Time
03-15-2007, 06:46 AM
I believe the bend is where your mind starts playing tricks. I had these on my BBF with the Bassetts and they fit and looked great. 16 was without bending the tape at all.
