we're looking at getting a new Dodge Mega Cab. dunno how many folks here have mega cabs. and I don't know of those how many had them lifted...but I'm wondering what it costs to do a 6" lift on a mega cab diesel. does anyone know? E4L, what did your cost?

Lifting the mega cab is no different than lifting a quad cab. I had mine done at Baja Motorsports in Orange.
The front is going up another 2 inches and fox reservoir shocks all around as soon as the shocks come in.

pretty cool. I don't want to spend $12k on a lift though. I like your option a little better for $6k including all the stuff you got.

okay, here's a new question. I had load leveling air bags on the rear springs on my Ford. those of you with the mega cab, do you recommend I do the same for this truck? does it sag much with the load of the boat trailer?

I do not understand the "lifted truck" craze??? I rode in a friends dodge when it was new.... rode just like mine... then he raised it and it rode like crap.... after 5 months... of astruggling to load his bike, he put it back... 2" above stock.... when he did the sales guy said he used to have his trucks all raised until he got in a wreck and it flipped.... he said the wreck should have been minor.... but it was totaled....

What a waste of money! diffs are in the same spot as they were when it was stock! It amazes me how some morons will spend x amount on a lift and the diffs are in the same spot??? why not just put a 6" body lift on it?? same results! LMAO at the posers! If your gonna LIFT IT..get the freakin diffs off the ground! Do the lift to get room for bigger tires! Bigger rims/tires = more axel clearnace. that thing doesnt look like it ever sees "Real off road" :D :D :D

Sorry I didn't know you wanted done that night.
If you want a suspension I would suggest Kore Performance, if you want it just for looks you can use any of the lift kits like superlift and such. Most use the Super lift I believe. I just leveled mine with 3" in the front with the ProComp and some MX6 shocks and it was a couple grand with the tires and wheels.

If any heavyduty sags because the weight of a 27' boat trailer then i would sell the POS truck and get a real truck. I've got a stock mega cab 3500 dually and it doesnt even sag with a 39' 5th wheel.

I agree, big lift... big bouncy bouncy...
Not mine, Spend the 12K and get a FULL air-ride suspension. NO bouncy bouncy, no kidney damage, no "Stuttering John" when talking on the cell while driving-watching a DVD-having a conversation-eating Barstow Del---ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!! ;)
Big tires, little tires. Big boat, little boat, Big trailer, little trailer. None of these matter, just re-adjust the air-ride whenever you like.
Of course, it's a huge amount to swallow, OMG expensive!!! But, there's a good chance it rides better than your car.
Or, one could spends 6K now to lift and then spend another 6K next year to lower...

My truck actually ridesbetter than when it was stock. My F-350 was the same. I have 9" of lift and have no problems getting my 450 in the back of the truck.
As far as a "craze" I think the 5-7 lowered chevy extended cabs were a craze, I remeber watching people getting high centered at the lauch ramps or watching them launc the boat and then opening up their tailgate to get their stuff out and realizing its all soaked. I will stick with my lifted truck
