I'm in the process of stripping all the nasty paint that was on my boat and have also been able to actually read the HIN #
According to the MIC it was likely built by GlassMasters. Anybody ever hear of them?
According to the title it's a 1978 Brendella but this has me wondering.

I also found some remnants of a Nevada license and that it had had the top cap painted purple at one time though the original is a rootbeer metal flake.

Anybody know anything about the code GMK and who was GlassMasters?

Thanks SS,
Definately looks like GlassMasters probably built my boat since it shows they went out of business in 79. Now the question is who was GlassMaster?
I have seen some remenants that shows the boat was in Nevada at one time and I know it was in Montana and Oregon before I got it. So it's definately been around.....

Just curious, but does the HIN on the title match the one on the hull? Was the HIN on the hull hidden under the paint job?

Yup. It matches the title. You could kinda see the number before but couldnt read it really well. Now with the paint off, it's a lot clearer

John's a super guy, I've seen it up close and it was already a nice looking boat. I gotta get all the digs in I can before he gets it done and outshines (and passes) all of us. ;)

You own a stolen boat and that old MIC wasn't supposed to be discovered. I think I would stick with the VIN you have:) .

???, dont mean to bust your nutz but how did you get there? My HIN number matches the title. Now if the HIN number was different than the title I can understand but that's not the case here.
Thanks anyway......

Oh yah, you know me Malcolm... I'm just the type to be dealing with stolen boats.
Oh well, no biggee. I did a search and found that Irv Brendel use to have other people build his boats (pre Hondo era) and he'd put his name on it. Maybe that's the dealio. Regardless, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.
Thanks everyone......back to sanding

That sounds like a reasonable explanation. Happy sanding!

You can count on it Tom.
By the way, it's all your damn fault that I'm doing all this extra work! Can't have a pretty pump bolted to a boat that looks like $hit......:D

:D just swung by the computer as I was headed out the door this morning. Isnt it about time you tore your boat down right before boating season?

I did, I have some interior work to get done :D I'm just having a couple of panels redone, nothing big this year. I'll be able to use the boat as soon as a little block of aluminum gets here :)
