It was in the 80s, super glassy (as you can see) and just soooo beautiful.
The Ultra is Jenkdick on here. It was his first day out with the new boat. It makes a really nice rooster tail. That is the one thing that is sooo cool about jets.
Enjoy.

Pretty clear except for all the Zebra Muscles. They were running up the shore and attacking us. It was the only thing that ruined the day.

Nice pics. I usually try to make it up there once a year. Level still dropping?

It's about 1129 now and projected to drop this summer to its lowest level since being filled--about 1113:(

It is supposed to go up about 10-12 feet from what I heard, due to the heavy snows in the Rockies.

That is Powell, Mead is going down. And the snowpack is below normal this year. It started out great but ended bad.:(

Its a bit early to predict, but I don't think its going up anytime soon. Going to be difficult at the working ramps this summer, and doubtful for some of our regatta's and poker runs. The sisterns (sp?) on the islands off Boulder Beach are showing about 6'

We have never boated on Lake Mead. Where do you launch? Is there a lot of sandy beaches like in your pic? Or where do you go to find them? That looks like a place my kids would love.

I have only been to Mead once and it was in a friends boat years ago. I need to get out there, from what I remember, that lake was awesome.

Man, that sucks...
20" guns... it is a great lake. It is so open and there are miles and miles of open water. Just not as party hardy as the zoo. We love it, but we also like the party atmosphere of Havi as well.

Congrats on the boat. As you know that was my first Ultra and I loved it. Welcome to the Ultra Family.
From what I can tell it looks like the guy changed the stereo from the original. One thing to check is you may have a bad breaker. I would start by changing that out. I had an issue similar to that and the breaker was bad. It should be mounted on the left side (looking into engine compartment from inside the boat) of the transom by the batteries. When I switched mine out it solved the problem. Cheap fix if this is the case. I would also go through and make sure all wire connections are tight on the back of the stereo andamp, etc.

We gave up Havi and Mohave years ago and have been on Mead since. It is a great lake for kids. Not sure about how the beaches will be this year since we are due for an historic low. The lake is about 100 feet low. The beaches are really awesome but that may change with the low water.

Yes I did have the Sony deck and changer (Sony Xplod). The changer I think is mounted on the back of the bench seat if memory serves me right. I really think the breaker may have gotten too much water on it and it is shorting out. That is what happened to mine. It seemed to be after the stereo played for a bit. When it happened to me I tried everything from changing the head unit, checking the amps, etc. and come to find out it was simple fix by just putting a new breaker in.

With the low water level, where would be the best place for a person coming from Havasu to launch?

JENKDICK
03-14-2007, 09:21 AM
the breaker is mounted on the back of the transom near the imco fuel box. should i move it towards the back seat. i did notice a lil water got on the wall near the battery.

I would definitely do that. I was planning on doing it when I had the boat, but I ended up trading it in. It won't take much to do so and it is safe insurance. I really think that this is the problem. Keep me posted. Good luck.

I would go to Temple bar. Go through Kingman to 93 north and right on Temple Bar Rd just before the Hoover Dam check point (AZ side). It is low there also so you may want to call ahead to check on the ramp 928-767-3211.

No I did not have any other plans for it. I used to boot in Blythe then we built a house in Ft. Mohave so I started boating in Havasu. I needed a bigger boat so I traded it in for a 24 Stealth and then a 27 Shadow and now another 27 Shadow.
I really do not know of any trailer places. Can't help you on that one, sorry.

Take a voltmeter out and turn it up until it quits, and then see if you have voltage past on the output side of the breaker.

I would say Lake mead Marina or Hemingway. These two ramps are at on the west side of the lake. What size is your boat and is your truck lifted? Last time I launched at Lake mead marina I was backed all the way to my rear doors but my Avalanche is stock height launching a 25' Daytona.

He is in Havasu. That would suck to go that far and fight the crowds when TB is closer, no border issues, etc.
