Still trying to make a decision on a 2 stoke outboard or a I/O, how Much better is the gas mileage of a 2 stroke outboard? Any inherent problems with a Merc 135?

2 stroke gets better mileage and the boat will have more room because the motor hangs off the back and is not inside. If I boated where there are no restrictions(and I do) against 2 strokes that is what I would have(and I do).
Easier to work on and ya get the thrill of smelling 2 stroke oil in the morning.:D
As far as I know the 135 has been a good little motor.

Yea 2 stroke, can ya smell it. But if you don't like the smoke and stuff you can run alysin 2 stroke oil, not as smokey as others. But if you need a tow in, look for an I/O. A 2 stroke will last twice as long as an I/O. And you will need a real tow vehicle to pull the I/O around.
