So the wife is tired of being on the pill. She's off of it as of yesterday. Last time that happened, i got her pregnant within a week and a half. So I got a couple of questions....
Apparently I need to get my self cut and stitched. Hows that gonna be? Easy? Scary... I don't understand why they call it "getting fixed" when they actually make it so you don't work.....
Next question is if there is any going to be any noticeable change in sex drive for either of us? I have heard once a woman goes off the pill her sex drive increases. (Geez I am hoping for that) I tell ya, begging should not count as foreplay. My wife isn't a pushover like EZKiller.
With stiches in my nutsack am I gonna want to poke anything for a while????

Also if she is nearing the big 40 birthday, the pill will delay menopause. Menopause is nasty mood swings, dry painful banging and belly weight gain for her. If she has natural breasts, the pill and the estogen contained will keep her 1/2 to a full cup size larger. Boobies shrink when estrogen decreases.
My advice is keep her on the pill and tell her how young and pretty she is.

Shave well prior to going in. I was given Valium prior to and it helped out a bunch. It doesnt get bad until you are naked with the nurse and you hop onto the table that is about 40 degrees and her face is about 6 inches from your towel rack. The shot feels like a shot. The only pain for me was when he coterized (sp?) my sack and that hurt like a mother f'er.
My junk hurt, but the frozen veggies and vicodin helped. Definitely go get tested to see if the procedure took. I have a neighbor that just had his youngest boy. He never got tested and bingo, pregnant again.

A coworker of mine told me a few things I remember to this day about the procedure:
1. Make sure to drain your bladder before the procedure so you don't piss on yourself when the doc takes the needles to the sack!!!!!:eek:
2. The needle to the sack was the worst part of the procedure or so he thought. Just don't try and man up and watch the doc tap your sack with the needle, you will regret it. Act like a liitle girl and look away!!!:D
3. When the doc cuts open your sack and goes fishing for your line you think, "This is not so bad." Then he yanks your tube out of your sack. He said it felt like someone was pulling on his eyeballs. :sqeyes:
4. When the doc cuts and burns your tubes. No big deal, but again don't be a tough guy and take a wiff of the burning tubes.
5. You will feel great after the procedure is done, almost good enough to ride your Harley the next day. DO NOT DO THAT!!! Take it easy for at least the next three days or your nuts will swell up the the size of grapefruits.:) :D :)

Had it done quite a few years ago. It is pretty relaxing when the nurse preps you but trust me there is no way any wood is gonna happen. :D That is just the calm before the prick, needle prick that is. Quick and easy procedure though. Biggest part is to stay relaxed for a day or two after. I went beck to running my restaurant and that was a big mistake. :( :) :(

This coworker told me that he is more relaxed his wife is more relaxed and they generally have a better time cause they don't have to worry about her getting pregnant again.
He said it increased her sex drive only because she did not have to worry about the pregnancy aspect.
After you get it done you and the wife will just have to start charging for those jet boat tours!!!:D :)

Get the soft blue ice from big five
& the mini zip lock bags, and have plenty of ice on hand.
Icing it down is everything toward success.
If the doctor doesn't put you on antibiotics before the proceedure, and plan to keep you on them for at least a week after you got the wrong doctor.

After the procedure go straight home and park yourself in front of the TV with the remote and the reading materials. Do nothing, I repeat nothing else for at least 2 days.
Do not worry about your sex drive or whether you'll get wood. You still have your boys and they will still produce testosterone.
You may also want to avoid reading anything posted by Easykiller for a couple of days.

Mandy.... No pain at all. The only thing that was uncomfortable was the nurse that prepared me for surgury was fuchkhing smoking hot. She grabbed my McGillicutty in one hand and washed the boys down with betadine with the other. The betadine is really cold, you could just imagine what PETER BRADY did.....shrank right in her hand :jawdrop:
The worst part of the whole procedure is the smell from the cotarizzing (sp) the Doc does to the tubes after he snipes them. There were no stiching. The whole on each side that he made close up on there own. I went to the river 3 days later with GRAPEAPE and I had a new weekend nickname....GRAPENUT... one of my boys was purple! It matched the boats gel :D
My sex drive is like that of an 18 year old stud and the load still gets the wifes eyes glued shut:D

They did, it's called the NSV - Non Scalpel Vasectomy. They use some type of syringe to go in, no cutting, no stiches. Insurance won't cover it, but it's better than having someone cutting open your nut sack.

You have to shave the whole sack the night before...this can be a daunting task...I used up the whole hot water heater supply before I was finished, just because the boys arent used to that treatment and I wanted to make sure it was a good job so that I didnt have to have anyone finish er off for me...
The day of was great! I had to work all day and have the procedure at 5:15pm!!! WTF!!! Damn Kaiser! Sweatin my balls off all damn day thinkin of the upcoming knife!
The Betadine is DAMN COLD!!! Dont fight it!!! There will be shrinkage!!!
Now then, there are two sides to deal with...my doc started with ole righty...lets just say I felt every damn bit of the ride side being cut, grabbed, pulled out, clamped, cut, and cauterized...I had feeling from my neck to the soles of my feet, esp. when she zapped the damn tubes with the electosurge!! I kept begging for more Lidocaine, but she was a fiesty one! Didnt really help me out with the juice and the ole 27 gauge needle as I watched in horror!!! Not to mention the stiches she put in tie, tug, tug, tie, tug, tug....OUCH!!!
Now then, ole Lefty was a breeze, after I let her know how much fun the right side was she decided to loosen up on the ole Lidocaine and really let it sit in the scrot for a few mins and then proceded. No Probs at all!!!!
I used tight ass briefs and a tight ass jock strap for 2 days straight!! Didnt shower for 48 hours, and stayed on the couch for the whole 2 days! First 24 hours, I iced the hell out of Deez NutZ!!! Pain was minimal since I kept taking Tylenol and Motrin, alternating every 4 hours...
Now I had been told that 1 in 3500 will experience pain when the load is about to release! Those odds suck ass!!! I was also told not to engage in for-knee-kay-shun for a week!
F THAT!!!! On the 4th day, the wife and I had to test things out! I am proud to announce that the pipes are ok and it feels exactly the same!
The real fun begins about one week afterward, when you think all is well and you can do things like normal!! Look out! Here comes the swelling!! Oh did I mention that the Dr said I might have pus colored drainage??? YEAH BOY!!!! The disolvable stitches were being soaked by a strange looking drainage that looked like pus and kept things kinda sticky down there!
Well, here it is the 15th and the holes are almost healed up and the stiches are gone by themself!

I had this done on the 2nd of March....
Here's how it went....
You have to shave the whole sack the night before...this can be a daunting task...I used up the whole hot water heater supply before I was finished, just because the boys arent used to that treatment and I wanted to make sure it was a good job so that I didnt have to have anyone finish er off for me...
The day of was great! I had to work all day and have the procedure at 5:15pm!!! WTF!!! Damn Kaiser! Sweatin my balls off all damn day thinkin of the upcoming knife!
The Betadine is DAMN COLD!!! Dont fight it!!! There will be shrinkage!!!
Now then, there are two sides to deal with...my doc started with ole righty...lets just say I felt every damn bit of the ride side being cut, grabbed, pulled out, clamped, cut, and cauterized...I had feeling from my neck to the soles of my feet, esp. when she zapped the damn tubes with the electosurge!! I kept begging for more Lidocaine, but she was a fiesty one! Didnt really help me out with the juice and the ole 27 gauge needle as I watched in horror!!! Not to mention the stiches she put in tie, tug, tug, tie, tug, tug....OUCH!!!
Now then, ole Lefty was a breeze, after I let her know how much fun the right side was she decided to loosen up on the ole Lidocaine and really let it sit in the scrot for a few mins and then proceded. No Probs at all!!!!
I used tight ass briefs and a tight ass jock strap for 2 days straight!! Didnt shower for 48 hours, and stayed on the couch for the whole 2 days! First 24 hours, I iced the hell out of Deez NutZ!!! Pain was minimal since I kept taking Tylenol and Motrin, alternating every 4 hours...
Now I had been told that 1 in 3500 will experience pain when the load is about to release! Those odds suck ass!!! I was also told not to engage in for-knee-kay-shun for a week!
F THAT!!!! On the 4th day, the wife and I had to test things out! I am proud to announce that the pipes are ok and it feels exactly the same!
The real fun begins about one week afterward, when you think all is well and you can do things like normal!! Look out! Here comes the swelling!! Oh did I mention that the Dr said I might have pus colored drainage??? YEAH BOY!!!! The disolvable stitches were being soaked by a strange looking drainage that looked like pus and kept things kinda sticky down there!
Well, here it is the 15th and the holes are almost healed up and the stiches are gone by themself!

If you can get past the smell of burning scrotum you will be fine. The procedure took about 7 mins a nut. 14 mins and I was out of there. Didn't really have any pain and still a horn dog. It also got me a free pass to do nothing all weekend but watch football games. May do it again just for fun when the Bowl games start next year.

Honestly, the worst part for me was the week or so leading up to the operation and thinking about the actual procedure.
As others have said, they have you take a Valium about an hour or so before the procedure, so you should be reasonably relaxed when you get there. The procedure itself is fairly straight-forward (if you have a good doctor...take recommendations, because it sounds like the guy up above had a pretty bad one).
The shot isn't any worse than any other you've had. I had some discomfort (like having your nuts squeezed) when they were repositioning the ends of the tubes after they had cut and cauterized them, but nothing unbearable. I felt no pain with the incision or stitches.
Best recommendation is don't do anything afterward and ice like crazy. I have talked with a half dozen or so friends who have had a vasectomy. Those that rested (flat on your back, two days) and iced, zero problems. Those who walked around, picked up kids, or exerted themselves...swelling, bruising, etc. If you've ever had a sports injury, the icing is no big deal...just keep it on. Sleep with it on if you can.
I didn't need any pain killers, had zero swelling, and the stitches fell out on their own on the fourth day. I played in my basketball league the fourth night (vasectomy on Thursday, basketball on Sunday). Probably not recommended, but no issues...again, I think frequent icing and initial rest is the secret.

The pill isn't generally recommended for women past 35. Also been shown to increase a woman's chance of breast cancer and cervical cancer, especially prolonged use. Risk is higher as you get older.

Here's a little story, I had a Vasectomy about a 1 year ago the procedure itself is not that bad. You really only feel the 1st injection into your nut, and it is a feeling you can't describe unless you have had it done:eek: . Anyways that's not the story, the story is as I go into the room the Doctor asks my wife if she would like to come in and observe the procedure. I was like no way, the Dr. convinced me to let her stay, with my new baby daughter about 6 months old, and the reason why I was going through this. At the time I did not know how it was going to feel, so needless to say I was a little unnerved to have my wife and baby in there. So the doctor starts, he and my wife are laughing, and giggling about stupid little jokes the Dr. had about the procedure, and prior patients. I am laying on the bed my nuts up between my legs, getting needles injected, scissors cutting, and things burning and they are laughing. My baby is babbling to. So at the point where the Dr. finally gets in you really only feel a few tugs and pulls, and the smell of burning flesh. The best part is the Dr. shows me what he cut out each time, and tells me and I quote "if she gets pregnant after this it's devine intervention". That tells you how much he was cutting out. Anyways it was a little weird having stiches in you sack, but they were the dissolving kind and they were not there that long. I am a Fireman, and I was back to work in 4 days, if that tells you anything. Get a bag of frozen peas and put it between you legs, leave for the 1st day, and you will be good to go for the next few, use the drugs they give you, and take it easy. You wont really have a choice of that, you will know if you over do it. Anyways GOOD LUCK:D

i just had my second one ,the first one didnt work. dr.was much more agressive had it done at the hospital,they put me under they second one is more painful cause of the scare tissue i had the biggest black (bruised} sack. off work for 2 weeks. DONT DO IT...

The anticipation was far worse than the procedure. I was out in 20 minutes.
I came home and iced down with frozen veggies for 5 hours.
I did get a bit sore like I got kicked in the junk around bed time. I woke up later in the middle of the night and just had mild soreness.
Today is fine aside from very mild soreness.

Both of my kids (1 girl, 1 boy) were delivered C-Section. We already knew we didn't want any more after the second, so as soon as we knew that the second was healthy, we had the Doc snip her while she was opened up.
No nutsack surgery, no pills, rings, shots, gloves, just bareback with no worries about more kids, risks (mood swings) from BC pills, IUD infections, or anything else.
Drive is still there. Maybe even more so since there's no worries and sex can be spontaneous. Still going strong 26 years after surgery. I don't know if there's a connection, but menopause has been a breeze. No mood swings, no bitchiness, just no more monthly "visitor", and the "drive" is still as strong as ever.
And, oh yeah. Did I mention I didn't have to get my nuts cut? :D
Same here, when our second came via c-section that was our decision also. Changed nothing in her drive, if anything its stronger now than then. :P

I had my appointment set for the "snip" (it took months) and decided to go to Glamis the weekend before. Ended up crashing and broke 2 ribs. Came home (not knowing the ribs were snapped....but sore as hell and not moving very well) on sunday afternoon. Went in for the snip Monday (still not knowing the about the ribs...just really hurtin'). They gave me a Valium to take an hour before...and I will tell you this...WOW!!!
I had never had a Valium before. Wifey drove and as I'm watching the road, I pretty much realized theres NO way I could have driven ANYWHERE under that kind of influence. I could definately get addicted to that!!!!
Snipping took 15ish minutes....the thing that bothered me (kind of) was the smell of the coterizing. I guess I'm just not into the smell of burning nuts!
I iced the kiwi's down for a few hours afterwards and was good to go. Just took everyones advice NOT to over-do it, even though I felt 100%.
The ribs hurt WAYYYY worse than the nuts....and for longer!!!

I got the big snip after the last mini-me. Wife and I are apparently overly capable of making kids, so it was well worth it. She used to be a frickin biznatch when she was on the pill, so I figured, rather than let her go crazy and castrate me, I'd just get snipped.
30 minutes tops...in, quick shave (just a couple little spots), a slit, a snip, and a stitch. Wasn't too sore, but believe me, when they say no activity for two weeks, that includes going snowboarding!
I found that even if you wear a couple sets of briefs, the bozack tends to wanna dip when you land a jump!! Not good at all.
Aside from the kids taking a couple pot shots at the bean bag, it was easy. And better than that...no worries about anymore lil ones...and thus, more money to spend on the boat!!:messedup: :hammer2:

I was supposed to go in last friday, but we had the spring break trip planned, and I didn't want to be in pain driving for 5 or 6 hours a day...hiking, etc. so I bumped the appointment to next week. Thursday at noon i think. I get Friday off ;) that way.
