DEFINATELY worth the drive.......couple of boats at party cove, but we were too busy burnin gas:D .......i might have went to that bar but i don't remember much from last night, but i do remember camp hopping :D :D didn't run all the way up there but next time for sure....we were running for miles and miles and never even passed any boats.....burned 45 gallons of fuel, got a couple of runs in last night before dark and took a couple this morning and was on the trailer at noon:jawdrop:

Apache is awesome. That glass last longer there cause all the wake boats are at Saguaro. But it does get rough there. Just wait till summer is in full swing. I Like that spot you camped at. I don't have to worry about fuel going to party cove.
I down for an Eastsider / Westsider / Southsider get together there mid summer. I'm planning on being there a couple of weekends after the 4th of July.
Fish Creek. I was there when the motorcylce plummeted off. Its still at the bottom. BAD night. We were told no one was on it but it still makes me shiver when I go by. Motor homes beware of the over hang:D

Did you find Waterdog Cove? If you did you would know it.It's agout 2-3 mi from the marina towards Roosevelt on the road sisde of the lake.As you come into the cove theres an old concrete ramp on the left side.Theres also two signs in the middle of the cove on the beach as designated boat launch area.It is the best camping there. You would have passed the turnoff when you were on your way out just before Davis wash(the first bridge you come to after leaving the marina headed towards roosevelt).

Worst lake ever, huge tuna trollers, 4.5' rollers, no gas on the water, no bar, no food, nothing.
Don't let the cat out of the bag!!!!!!! Next thing we know it'll be wake boarders and trollers. Although the Pu**ys usually won't drive down that road.
Glad you guys had a good time. Let me know next time you go, I'm in. Been going there since I was three months old.

You have no idea how tempted I was to pack up and go for at least one day. I know.........long drive for a day, but I'da done it if I could've.
Had lots to do at the house this weekend..............otherwise I'da gone.
Let's definitely do a trip and get as many hotrodders as possible.
Love Apache despite the no food, no bar, tunaboat rollers, awful campsites, and that nasty run up the canyon towards Roosevelt etc. :D

well yo know if everyone shows and more that may not even be associated with us show we'll be having our own drag races. It's not uncommon to get 20 to 40 boats out in front of Burnt Corral a few hours before sunset.Everyone just floats and talks shit till it's time to lay some smackdown.Hell Brian come up on friday and leave Sat night and hit the races on Sun.

130,000mi. A little Lucas upper cylinder lube and injector cleaner in every tank load and she will go another 130,000mi with no problems. There is alot to be said about routine and proper maintinance.By the way mines a diesel and they tend to clog up quicker than gasoline due to the higher sulfer and carbon levels.

it died about a mile from the marina.........couldn't figure it out.......some guy towed him to the top of the hill, then i dropped my boat and picked his up...ended up coasting his truck all the way down to where we were camping
This is why Apache Lake remains a lightly used lake. That narrow, dirt, wash boardy roads is rough on equipment.

No it's not.People are rough on equipment.Run 30 + mph on a wash board road and you will shake the crapp out of anything.Take your time and slow down to 10 to 15 mph on the washboard areas no problem. You've seen my boat and trailer and how nice it is and I've had it up and down that road more times than I can count. Not one problem, zero, zip, zilch.

Amen.........that's the way to do it. S L O W is the key. I just idle down that road. It's only like 5 - 6 miles of dirt from Roosevelt to Burnt Corral. I aint in no hurry.

I was going down that hill once and up was comein a dually four door with a six stall horse trailer. I was sucked up to the side of the mountain. Looking back in my at him as he passed me, stinking wheels of the trailer going off the side of the hill. He was holding it to the floor. NUTS. My brother knows a guy that took a tracktor with a 48' trailer through there. Must of had something to hide.

None that were due to just falling apart.I did have to rebuild my transfer case due to a friend trying to put it in 4 x 4 while in drive.Wasn't really aproblem.Actually I thanked him. When I took it to the dealership and told the service rep that I thought there was something wrong with my tranny he just ordered up a tranny and told the mechanic to put it in.Well when the mechanic was putting it back together he realized the transfercase was acting a little weird. So I got a call from the sevice manager telling me he would be handling my account as my rep had been fired.since the truck was over 100,000mi and out of waranty, and they had already sent my old tranny back they would only charge me for the parts for the transfer case and no labor.so I got a new tranny with the upgrades from the 99' model and a rebuilt transfercase for $400.00.Other than that just some new batteries.

Well Ty I talked to Ern tonight and tried to talk him and Vin to come to Apache instead and he's thinking about it.Especialy since Bartlett is only 40% full right now and will most likely still be very low in 4 weeks.Damn just change lakes.Besides theres a hell of a lot more shade at Burnt Corral to set up camp.

Good Ryan, how about yourself? I pulled the boat out and washed it this weekend and fired it up.Now it goes to Eddie's Inboard & Marine for a little work and pull out the parts he made at the end of last summer and off to the anodizers. Got to clean up the camper and get ready for the April trip. You got to help me talk the rest of the guy's into coming to Apache instead of Bartlett.

Apache will be much better than Bartlett. I was there a few weeks ago and spots to launch from shore are few and far between. Apache is full and Bartlett is way low. Hmmmm, I say you guys change lakes and come to Apache. Man up and just take it easy down the dirt. From the end of the pavement to where we will be camping is about 6mi.If you run 10 mph at the slowest to 25 mph at the fastest in the smooth parts that averages 17.5 mph.So it basically takes 20 to 30 min on the dirt road.I mean hell whats a hour of driving to escape the bigger crowds at the other lakes and better water worth?
