You guessed it
'IN GOD WE TRUST'
IS GONE!!!
Who originally put 'In God We Trust' onto our currency?
My bet is that it was one of the Presidents on these coins.
All our U.S. Government has done is Dishonor them, and disgust me!!!
If ever there was a reason to boycott something, THIS IS IT!!!!
DO NOT ACCEPT THE NEW DOLLAR COINS AS CHANGE
Together we can force them out of circulation.

I heard that there were about 100 of these coins that came out of the mint as bare slugs. I guess they are worth over $1000. It doesn't make sense that a "mistake" could be worth so much????

I was just thinking about this the other day...
How in the pledge of alliegance in the schools they removed the "under God" line...
While I do understand 'freedom of religion'...this country and its heritage were built upon "One nation under God"...that is part of this country's heritage!!!
Why all of a sudden are some immigrants coming into our country and changing it??? Would we be allowed to do something of this nature to their country?
The forefathers and early presidents of this country created this country on Christianity. If you want to practice some other religion and worship some other God, by all means do it. But don't use your religion as an excuse to change this country's heritage!!!

..who says it's immigrants wanting these changes?? "under god" was added to the pledge in the 1950's...this country's heritage is far from what you would consider "god" like or christian in nature..

I'd take one of them improper coins, all minting mistakes end up being worth a bunch.

Not really, there were so many that they are going for $60 on ebay. When they were first found they were going for more but there are tens of thousands of them out there.

Actually that phrase "UNDER GOD" wasn't in the original pledge of allegiance. It was added in the 50's - 60's. (can't remember exactly when right now)
So is removing it taking away from this country's heritage? Or in fact restoring this country's heritage?

I would prefer that any religious reference is removed from our money and the Pledge. It's about time.

Seems like these new dollar coins have errrors left and right. Some people claim upside-down lettering on the edges, filled in letters, and off center stamping of the statue of liberty. It gets double brownie points for having two errors. Isn't coin collecting fun?

I agree with that. Some kid cashier at the local 7-11 is a pain in the ass everytime I go there. I bought some items and the total was 11.87 or something, I give him a $20 bill and change to 87c. The fawker gives me nine of the dollar coins back for change. WTF!! THERE WAS A REASON I GAVE YOU THE CHANGE A-HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

...this country's heritage is far from what you would consider "god" like or christian in nature..
Sorry, can't let this ignorance go unchecked. While it is true that some of the founding fathers were agnostic, God is referenced in many, if not most, of the documents written by the founding fathers of this country, not the least of which the Declaration of Independence. It is clear that the intent of the founding fathers was to have this country based on Judeo-Christian values. Mistakes were made by men then as they continue to be made now that are not God-like or Christian in nature, but to say that this country's heritage doesn't have a bases in God is absurd.

...I wasn't referring to agnostics and christians living at the same time, of course there was. And you are correct, there are 4 references to "god" and spelled out once in the entire Declaration of Independence. :)
