its all in how you drive it... If I push my bronco I get about 8 mpg in town... and about 12 on the HWY ( 65 any above and it goes down hill quick)
if I take off ez and don't push it, I get about 13 in town and 14 on the hwy doing 60( when I tow a trailer thats about 2000lbs seting the curise on 55 I get even better...lol... It really needs a over drive)

My F250 V10 gets about the same mileage around town. If I set the tripmeter, at 220 or so, it's time for a fill up. Usually about 21 gallons. On the freeway, I set the cruise at 70 or so and she gets much better mileage, for a gashog, that is! :D

My 98 w/ 5.4 2wd (which I just sold) was averaging 16.7mpg with a mix of city and highway. On a trip to Vegas it would average 21-22mpg.

My 2000 5.4 has never gotten better than 12 mpg. I think the AWD is what kills the mileage. The 2WD and the older 4WD that you can lock in 2WD seem to do much better. I added dual exhaust and a KN intake and it didn't help much if any.
